In 2011, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D Nev.) went before a joint session of the Nevada State Legislature to call for an adult conversation about prostitution in the state.
Nevada needs to be known as the first place for innovation and investment not as the last place where prostitution is still legal, he said in a speech delivered to the Nevada Legislature.
We should do everything we can to make sure the world holds Nevada in the same high regard you and I do, Reid continued. If we want to attract business to Nevada that puts people back to work, the time has come for us to outlaw prostitution.
**SNIP**
However, Las Vegas is hoping to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. Reid, a supporter of the citys bid, has argued that even though prostitution is a misdemeanor in Las Vegas, the states stance on prostitution could be an issue.

I guess the “business” leaders in the prostitution business were a little short on Harry payoff request..
What a narrowly parochial fellow Reid is. Here I thought liberals were supposedly more global in perspective than us conservatives.
I guess Reid doesn’t realize that prostitution is legal in most of Western Europe, most Commonwealth countries outside Africa, and pretty much all of Latin America. Some places still make organized brothels and pimping illegal, while permitting prostitution per se (a regime not found anywhere in the U.S.) but plenty of them — for example Victoria in Australia where there is an amusingly named, at least to non-Australians, organization which makes the news from time to time “the Victorian Prostitutes’ Collective” — have regimes similar to the counties of Nevada which took local option to keep regulated brothels open.
DC FIRST
No he’s really going to tick off his base.
Harry must not be aware that a lot of cowboy poetry focuses on hookers.
In Mormon circles, Reid is known as a “Jack Mormon.”
Himself
I would bet his union thug base is pretty pissed about Obamacare, and will not be GOTV by intimidating, err, I mean campaigning for him and and stealing the election like last time...He almost lost to a nobody...
He will need that moderate democrat voter, soccer mom, working stiff dad, illegal, err, I mean immigrant hotel worker...
Watch Harry become a moderate...
...which he can easily do when he will be losing the Senate majority seat...
Reid had better look in a mirror... he’s about to make himself into Nevada’s Most Wanted outlaw...
Now wait a minute. First they did away with the manufacturing jobs. Then they got rid of the tech jobs. Now they’re trying to do away with the service sector jobs? Why heck, all that would be left would be the no jobs sector.
This isn’t all that surprising really. This profession doesn’t quite conform to the method the government generally thinks the employee should take it.
Just to prove once and for all, the government is on the wrong side of every issue.
And against politicians who get rich in office while never having held a private sector job.
I'm sure this somehow ties in with the expected presidential run for hillary, and appeasing the feminazi’s.
Look up Shady Land Deals and you’ll see his photo right alongside his son’s.
I hope he continues the campaign against prostitution. It will guarantee he won’t be elected, the crooked bestid.
I wonder how many whore houses he owns...???
EEEWWW can you imagine being the hooker service Harry if you know what I mean
Can you say GROSSS
Exactly. And with the dems’ whole-hearted enthusiasm for abortions and homosexuality, I figured that prostitution would be seen as a type of “civil right” to them.
Not in the Mormon circles I run in...the term is a little more critical.
What an idiot. Prostitution doesn’t interfere with anyone’s rights.
Dingy Harry’s mob buddies made more money when it wasn’t legal running their pimping and whore houses.
Does this mean Reid is retiring?
The gov is now picking up their healthcare bill and it’s a “risky” behavior.
Hence they need to stop it.
