Whether Democrat or Republican, do you really want your private tax information leaked with impunity?
On March 9, 2010, around 10 a.m., I announced my plans to run for senate representing Delaware.
Later that same day, my office received a call from a reporter asking about my taxes.
Its since come out, after a halting and unenthusiastic investigation, that a Delaware Department of Revenue employee named David Smith accessed my records that day at approximately 2 p.m. out of curiosity, he says.
That these records ended up in the hands of the press is just a coincidence, the IRS claims.

Just an accidental stray shot from somewhere in the neighborhood while a gun was being cleaned, that’s all...

Remember Joe the Plumber? The Democrat who was governor of Ohio at the time Joes info was leaked was on a broadcast, waxing all Christie knew, Christie had to know about the lane closings. Karl Rove was on the show, and he replied that the governor was saying that he knew in advance about the illegal accessing of Joes information. That shut him up about Christie!

Yep! The same thing was done to Angle in Nevada. They can’t win! And when they’re mocked no republican comes forward to defend them.
Christine is the only person running for senator that I made a contribution and I don’t regret it. I do regret voting for McCain.

Rove had a lot to do with poisoning the environment for Christine. Rove, et al. may have a lot to do with the IRS getting away with targeting Americans. It makes me physically ill.

A witness to the person who accessed Obama's passport records was murdered. ... Leiutenant (sic) Quarles Harris, Jr., 24, was shot in the head in his car, in front of his church. Quarles was apparently a small-time hoodlum involved in a document theft. But he had no connection with the Obama, Clinton, and McCain passport records case.

I totally agree. For God’s sake Maria Cantwell is a U.S. Senator.

...when Sandy Burger got caught stealing secret documents??? I remember that .... but did anyone ever figure out what he was going to do with those docs, which reflected badly on Slick?
Was his intention to "disappear" the documents?

Of course.
Remember that Burger had been in and out of the National Archives several times before being caught. The people at the Archives said that no harm was done because they still had other copies of the documents, and that Burger only took interim working copies, but he actually took copies that had Clinton's notes in the margins.
It was Clinton's notes that were incriminating.

I think the belief was that the copies he stole had notes from the Clinton administration warning about Bin Laden.
Googling around I found this:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2007/01/sandy_berger_what_did_he_take.html
Berger took five copies of the report and later destroyed three of them. What was on the copies he destroyed? Handwritten notes from Berger, the President, or some other official? Observations that would be embarrassing to them, evidence they missed an important threat or considered or recommended actions - or decisions not to act - they wouldn't want to defend in public? Evidence, perhaps, that would have supported the Bush Administration? We don't know, and no one who does is saying, but the evidence must have been terribly damning for Berger to take the risks he did.
