Self-described 'Maverick' Senator John McCain is making waves with his defeatist statements about how formidable Hillary Rodham Clinton will be as a presidential candidate, predicting that she would win if the 2016 election were held in 2014.
'I would bet, my friend, as much as I hate to admit it,' McCain told Piers Morgan during his Thursday night CNN broadcast, 'that right now this is why we have campaigns but right now, if the election were tomorrow, Hillary Clinton would most likely be the president of the United States.'
The Arizona pol and 2008 Republican presidential nominee was responding to comments from Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, who told a columnist that Americans weren't ready for a female president at least not as much as they were eager to elect an African-American.

Hillary's a total wreck.
Heavy boozing, treasonous behavior in office, holding criminal secrets, living in a dungeon of lies, a record of foul and unpardonable personal behavior, blood on her hands --- it's all polluted her mind and body beyond redemption.
If her doctors can't convince her stay off the campaign trail, she's gonna fall dead trying it.
I personally will not go back that far. I praise him for his survival in Hanoi Hilton and all that that means to the average military person, however, that is in the past.
Jumping forward. At some point he elected to become a RINO, forgetting his sacrifice.
At some point he decided to use his hardship to advance his own agenda and that agenda included overwhelming compromise with the left.
His desire for power became more than his desire to serve the American people.
Heh.....gotta wonder, don't you?
I like your optimism. ;-)
The operative phrase there is “worthy primary challengers”.
I don’t see any...unless they can pull another Obama “rock star” from their magic bag of tricks.
Of course, anything can happen in this weird world we live in.
I don't think so.
McCain isn't known for engaging his brain before opening his yap. How he's been elected over and over and over again by Arizonans, is a great mystery to me.
I don't think I'd go that far, but I sure wouldn't mind if someone found enough dirt on him to shut him up.
And not to mention how she smells...
Agreed.
2008 was really her one and only shot at the White House. She was brushed aside by the magic negro, and her party turned their backs on her.
Now, she's a worn out rotting corpse, who probably can't walk a block without collapsing. Shallow Dem voters will turn their eyes to the next shiny thing that stands up and promises to give them their neighbors' money. Hillary wouldn't stand a chance.
Unbelievable. That was nine years ago. Bubba had been out of office for five years. What on earth would possess him to say such a thing at that time?
I'm telling you, there's no making sense of crazy.
Thanks, but it's just simple observation.
Hillary didn't have what it takes to win the job of President six years ago. She has even less of it now. By 2016, she'll probably be too corroded to stand, let alone waddle.
Mark my words. Before the 2016 primary, there'll be some sort of statement from her that she's not running due to medical issues. It'll be the first time she's told the truth to the American people.
Oh yeah, you're right.
Her lies and that Benghazi cover-up will one day come to light, before 2016, (I think and so pray). Four Americans remain dead and someone gave that stand down order: the Marxist to her and Panetta?
Booze it up Hillary and spill yer guts. Confession is good for the soul... provided she has one.
The demonic-rats have plenty of egotists.
That horrid governor of MD ... O’Malley and that MA Senator, Warren, thinks she’s an Indian Chief, so why not POTUS material?
I'd ask you to examine that theory through the lens of facts, logic, and reason. Hillary is about the unlikeliest winning candidate on the Democrat bench right now, for a host of reasons.
1. Benghazi - the opposition on the right (not necessarily the R candidate) is going to bang that drum until it hurts. She will not be able to brush it aside or make it go away. It's going to get louder and louder, and will force her into an untenable (and unwinnable) corner.
2. She's been on the national stage since 1992. Americans of all stripes have Clinton fatigue. They. Just. Won't. Go. Away.
3. Hillary doesn't represent a change of direction from Obama. She's from the same Marxist/Alinsky camp, and wouldn't do anything different than her predecessor, which isn't going to play well by 2016 when the country is practically dead from Obama's depredations.
4. Baggage - If Benghazi weren't enough, Hillary has left a long wake of scandals behind her in her adult life. They will all be re-examined and rehashed ad infinitum, should she choose to run. It'll make John Kerry's 'Swiftboat' look like a dinghy in comparison.
5. She's old. She looks old. She's gonna look even older in 2016. So old, in fact, that typically shallow Dem voters will be turned off by her mere appearance. Any Dem candidate with less mileage and a sparkly smile will take massive voter support away from her on that aspect alone.
6. Likeability - Hillary is just plain unlikeable. Every time she cracks a smile, it's so fake, a mirror breaks. The woman is an ice witch, and it comes through, no matter how hard she tries to hide it. It's one of the reasons Dem voters so easily swung to Obama in 2008. He's a phony too, but he fakes it a whole lot better than she does.
7. She's a drunk - There's no getting around the fact that she's a real boozer. It shows, and it's done a lot of damage to her over the years. Three years from now, the alcohol damage will be even more pronounced.
8. Bubba - There's a wild card for ya. Anything can happen with that guy. Just one mis-statement by him at a critical and inopportune moment could blow the whole race. And he's totally capable of doing it.
In short, Hillary has few positives, and tons of negatives to overcome. It's highly unlikely that she can reverse the public's perceptions of her by the 2016 primary. If she'd been some back bench bit player in the Democrat pantheon, she might have been able to sweep all that under the rug, but she insisted upon being in our faces the last 22 years, so there's no hiding anything. Fame, it seems, is a double edged sword.
lol
Only in his fondest dreams.
