Though officials have confidently claimed enrollment in ObamaCare is surging, Vice President Biden suddenly suggested during a stop in Minneapolis the totals might be lower than projected.
"Initially, we talked about by the end of this period having seven million people lined up," he told a group in a coffee shop on Wednesday. "We may not get to seven but we're gonna get to five or six, and that's a hell of a start with people."
Thats quite a difference from the confident predictions last fall, just before the rollout, from Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
"I think success looks like at least 7 million people having signed up by the end of March 2014," she told NBC last September.

With most actual enrollees being people who will be getting great benefits from these, er, risk corridors. Government subsidies. The ones for whom O’care would be a lousy deal aren’t going for it.
Today, the proportion of people NOT covered by some kind of medical benefits payment plan is much higher than it was as of January 20, 2009. More people have LOST coverage under Obamacare than have yet been enrolled, or may expect to be enrolled, for some time to come. And the “coverage” provided is much less than whatever they may have had before.
Way to throw a bomb there, Secretary Sebelius. No job loss, yeah, right.
Snowball with compounded growth. Only, it has kind of gotten away from them, and massive destruction of all that lies in its path is certain.
There is no way to pick up a piece of fecal matter by its clean end, nor to apply polish to it.
He’s just lowering the bar now so when the real numbers come out they will have only missed by 3 million instead of 5 million......
No.
So the ones who pay the bills aren't signing up?
This is what happens when you punish success and reward failure. Obama won't be happy until all of the little people are equally miserable (while the elites enjoy the good life).
Today, the proportion of Americans NOT covered is much higher than it was as of January 20, 2009. More people have LOST coverage under Obamacare than are enrolled, or expect to be enrolled......coverage provided is ridden w/ unaffordable high monthly costs, ruinous deductibles, spotty coverage, with doctors refusing to sign on.
THIS WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD: Pelosi keeps swearing the Dems are gonna run and win on the (gag) "glories" of Obamacare....but a PAC associated with Nancy Pelosi financed a TV ad for a candidate who slams the White House for the disastrous healthcare.gov website.....then boasts that the candidate voted to let you keep your existing health plan.
NOTE Obama's "Keep Your Plan promise" has been cited as The Lie Of The Year."
=============================================
Yoo, Hoo, Nancy---better call home. Nancy has apparently not heard the news that a (gasp) Republican won the San Diego Mayor's race by a hefty margin.
THAT SUCKING SOUND YOU HEARD Feinstein, Boxer AND Obama all endorsed the Democrat loser Alvarez. An omen of things to come? Could this be the reason why (cackle)?
As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature healthcare plan---ultimately enacted, by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote, into the "Affordable Care Act"
QUOTING 2008 OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if youve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All Im going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. Youll still have choice of doctor.
Repeated over and over again---- with his promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.
Significantly, Obamba NEVER corrected lock-stepping Democrats, all reading from the same Democrat talking points, all of them repeating the same Democrat promises---over and over again.
LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1930-40's ERA EUROPE Obama And the Dems marched in lockstep.....the persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."
SEN. BARBARA BOXER (D-CALIF): So we Democrats want people to be able to keep the health care they have. And the answer to that is choice of plans. And in the state exchange, were going to have lots of different plans, and people will be able to keep the health care coverage they need and they want. (Sen. Boxer, Press Release, 2/8/11)
SEN DIANNE FEINSTEIN (D-CALI): I listened to the president and I believed him when he said, 'if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.' I believed he was correct. I didn't realize there were all these codicils attached to it. President Obama should never have promised that people would be able to keep their health plans. I think he was done a disservice. Someone should have stopped him and said on his staff. There's this condition and that condition."
THEN-HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER NANCY PELOSI (D-CALIF): "We must pass the O-care bill so we can find out whats in it." Tick, tock, tick tock,......we must now wait 1-2 decades for its "goodness" to rollout.
An attempt at an orderly retreat a midst Senatorial panic.
If Biden sees a faint glimpse of President Biden, what is he to do? If the Exec free to flee the sinking ship or must he go down with the Captain?
Fox's Megyn Kelly did a really fun simulcast-----
<><> Nancy Pelosi saying everything Obama said about "keeping your plan" was accurate .......
<><> then Obama saying everything he said about keeping your plan was INaccurate.
———CEAUSESCUIAN PROPORTIONS-——
Now that is a great turn of phrase, I like it.
The corollary is CEAUSESCUIAN CONSEQUENCES.
I’d post a picture but might get a time out for violence
and that current health-care commercial, with the mom telling her 35 yr old live-in son he needs to buy health insurance?and why didn’t the voice-over tell us the prices?,don’t many commericals advertise their prices, like, “Polices Starting at 600.00 a month?”.
Aetna, in their last earnings report which came out last month said they had signed up 135,000. They are the largest insurer and have plans with the most exchanges. There are about 10 health insurance companies writing policies In the exchanges.
Am I interpreting this correctly? Over 5 million people lost their policies last October, that is not disputable, correct? And now Biden is saying that in the past six months, the administration might get 5 or 6 million back?
And lest we forget, these numbers of "enrollments" are highly fudged. They're double-counted, they count people who only registered on the website, and they count people who might've selected a policy, but never paid for it.
