Lawmakers: CIA #2 Lied to Us About Benghazi
Weekly Standard ^ | 2/20/2014 | Stephen F. Hayes

Posted on 02/20/2014 4:15:22 PM PST by mojito

Two leading Republicans on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence say that Michael Morell, former deputy director and twice acting director of the Central Intelligence Agency, provided an account of his role on Benghazi that was often highly misleading and at times deliberately false.

“I went back and reviewed some of his testimony the other day and he’s gotten himself in a real box,” says Senator Saxby Chambliss, the highest-ranking Republican on the committee. “It’s really strange. I’ve always thought Mike was a straight-up guy, gave us good briefings—factual, straightforward. I mean, this has really been strange the last few weeks—all this now being uncovered.”

At issue is the central role Morell played in producing the Obama administration’s flawed talking points about the fatal attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012, and the misleading answers he provided to lawmakers who investigated them.

The allegations of misconduct are serious. In the “additional views” portion of the recent Senate Intelligence Committee report, six Republican members accuse Morell of lying in sworn testimony to Congress. Several Republican senators tell The Weekly Standard that Morell misled them in one-on-one or small-group meetings about the talking points. Morell—now counselor to Beacon Global Strategies, a consultancy close to Hillary Clinton—did not respond to a request for comment.

I'm wonderin' if this CIA #2 was compromised by the NSA surveillance.

And, I'm thinkin' if he was, the NSA might have messed with a bigger dog than they could handle...along with the White House.

You're just not very smart to go after people who kill for a living.

The video excuse has vanished. Why isn’t anyone asking why?

It's vanished...because it can no longer be justified.

What I want to know is just who's idea was it? And, then, I want to know why. And when they first became aware of it.

Is he queer or just acts that way to endear himself with the administration?

If Saxby is truly outraged and really cares, he’ll issue a new subpoena and drag Morrell’s ass back before his committee to clear up the matter under oath.

As a member of the minority, Chambliss cannot issue subpoenas.

That task belongs to the Committee's Chair, Diane Feinstein...

Would it be treason if Hillary and Obama knowingly provided support to the people who murdered four Americans? What’s the punishment for treason? Maybe that’s why Hillary is looking haggard.

So what he lied. The GOP-DOPes will do nothing about it. They don't care about anything other than their jobs, benefits (separate and greater than mine or yours) and all the lobbyist money they can stuff in their campaign funds.

The only answer is criminal charge(s). Clapper. Berger, Holder, Clinton, Rice, etc... Everyone that lied under oath, charge them. Let them spent the time to refute. It will cost them money and political capital. The MSM can’t completely ignore actual charges.
Subpoenas are worthless if the info is already gone.

... was often highly misleading and at times deliberately false.,..

In flyover we call that 'lying' and if done under oath we call it 'perjury'...

Posted for those of you out there who still care about high crimes and misdemeanors, you know, like perjury.

I do and Thank You!

Leon Panetta is that large figure standing in the corner. In the other even darker corner is an even larger figure who rarely is visible to anyone but Barack O. he is Ben Rhodes.....Barry's fixer, another of Barack's clandestine people and much feared for his fiction. Both men have a great deal to do with the web spun around Benghazi, both Obama and Clinton know about it.

Why would anyone ever trust Obama or Clinton for any reason again.
