Dwelle Jerome Clark was stabbed in the stomach by his ex-girlfriend Edna White moments after he caught her rummaging through his mother’s handbag.
“He said, ‘Stay out of my mom’s things,’” witness to the stabbing Omar Mills said Wednesday.
According to Mills, after Clark, 55, uttered those words, White, 56, started hitting him with a walking cane. Clark then took the cane away from her, Mills said, and walked into his bedroom. White then grabbed a butcher knife from atop a dresser, followed Clark into his room and stabbed him in the abdomen, Mills said.

Two important lessons are to be gained here.
The first is to never underestimate the threat of a knife, especially in close quarters. Do not assume a handgun is the better weapon inside a building.
If at all possible, get a trusted friend, a *very* dull wooden or rubber knife, and a cap gun, and *practice* with variations. You will learn volumes in just a few minutes. Change the distances, the lighting, and always act like you are both in an unexpected situation.
The second lesson is the unpredictability of junkies. When you think of a conflict situation, the assumption is usually that the other person is sane, or sane enough, but there are no guarantees with junkies. They may be sane, or not, or vacillating between the two. And this can make them much more dangerous.
They may be fixated on getting more drugs, or on getting something they can use to get more drugs. Or who knows what may be going through their mind? But while they may look reasonably normal, you have to assume they are violently insane.
well, i noticed that no one is mentioning the race of the suspected kidnapper and killer of Hailey Owens (on a different thread)... nor the race of the man who chased after him...
personally, i do not see why race has to be mentioned at all... and i do not get why people feel the need to point out their speculation...

If members of one race are far more likely to commit certain types of crimes than members of another race (or other races in general), then it’s pertinent to let people know so they have some general knowledge and can defend/protect themselves accordingly if they find themselves in a similar situation.
Some examples: I’m much more likely to be killed by a white male if I’m a victim of a serial killer. I’m much more likely to be the victim of a mugging or a knockout attack by a black male or group thereof. I’m much more likely to be the victim of a cyber attack by a white male from a former Soviet bloc country.
Knowing who you’re dealing with is important in minimizing your chance of becoming a victim.
tomkat, why make that comment to me? it's not nice, and you do not know me... why not simply ask me why it is i think the way i do? i am a smart gal.... if the person's race or ethnicity is not mentioned, i can usually figure it out for myself... i think it is silly that so many people feel the need to mention it every single time...
that is just my opinion, and i know it is not a well-received one... and yet, nobody made the, "if Obama had a son," comment regarding the "good" guy in the Hailey Owens murder... that is simply my observation, and i doubt it will be well-received...
i do aim to judge people on their character and not their skin color... do i expect people to stop making those comments here on FR? no... but i do not know why the person who replied to me made that Amish comment to me--of all people... it did not fit my original comment... i am not burying my head, i am no blind fool... but i have to admit that i do try hard to be color blind... perhaps it is because i am Caucasian, my husband is Caucasian... our oldest adopted son is Caucasian, our younger adopted son is--we do not know what he is...

Having said that however, I adamantly maintain that color-blindness, while a laudable sentiment in theory, can get you good and dead when applied while wearing rose-colored glasses.
There's only one race doing this 'knockout' thing; only one race committing wildly disproportionate %s of other crimes; only one race being excused ad infinitum by the media whores.
Two of the vilest members of that same race were given the keys to 1600 & the DOjustus by gutless, self-loathing creatures who chose PC cowardice over fidelity to America's supposed Constitutional preeminence.

There are tons and tons of black Americans who fit right in with the Founding principles championed on this site, and they'll always be welcomed here.
And while the passing years have honed the judgement to recognize good people when I meet them (usually :), those same years have also instilled a 'sense' to know when something is very very wrong.
And right now, with the Black Klan in DC, something is very very wrong.
If you weren't a smart gal, you wouldn't have hung around here this long.
All I'm saying is that there are many situations/locales that were reasonably safe ten years ago, that are absolutely dangerous today, and it's all down to Ø/Holder's nascent wink/nudge race war.
Make no mistake - that's what those marxist bastards want, and it won't take much more pushing for them to get it.
Because for all the decent upstanding Americans who happen also to be black, there are hundreds of thousands more who'd as soon slit your throat as look at you.
And my original, if poorly worded point, was that all the kumbaya in the universe isn't likely to change that anytime soon.
So: situational awareness at all times; keep your head on a swivel; don't leave the house without the means and will to defend you/yours.

I don’t think it was quite so simple. There was a lot more to how those events unfolded and why Dunn pulled the trigger.

Doubtless you have better access to the facts of the case than they did........
IF it was as simple as you say, they should have deliberated for about three seconds before reaching their verdict but NO, it took a lot longer than three seconds.
The jury didn’t disagree with me, they disagreed with the defense and their client. That’s what I understand about the case but hey, that’s just me. Just what is that you want to debate anyway?
I have no intention to debate anyone who doesn’t understand the American justice system.
If you had ever sat on a jury you would realize that your statement above is stupid.
If you knew anything about concealed carry you would realize that everything else you posted was based on ignorance not experience.
