I’ve always loved reading your work, but you lost me. Answer one question? Tell me how you would stop obama from getting us further and further into debt. When is enough that we do something? $25 trillion? $30? Are we to just give him whatever he wants? The problem is that the rinos won’t confront obama on anything. If they don’t have the courage to hold people accountable ( increasing the debt, IRS scandal, Bengazi, illegally making and changing laws....) then they need to step down and let brave patriots do their jobs. Like you, I have grandchildren who will be slaves of the government trying to pay this off. Don’t you care what you are leaving your grandkids, all children?

Well, everybody whiffs once in a while. Nice try, Doc.
Sowell is assuming that most of the Republicans vote according conservative principles, and in the best interest of the party. This is a wrong assumption based on what we see all the time.
I like Thomas Sowell, but I completely disagree with him regarding Cruz. The reason Cruz has a lot of support is because of the very reasons that Sowell is criticizing him for. Cruz's supporters don't want to go along and get along with the corrupt, devious GOPe.
Cruz does not need to please Sowell or his GOPe buddies.
We conservatives need a leader right now, and I don't see anybody stepping up except Sen. Cruz. And, oh yeah, mcconnell is DEAD in this years election.
I never could understand the cheerleading for Sowell...who basically preaches the same Free Trade rhetoric that every Democrat pushes, including Obama.
Cruz is a threat to Liberal globalists everywhere
But there are already disquieting signs that he is looking out for Ted Cruz even if that sets back the causes he claims to be serving.
What would those be? Taking 3 million dollars to support amnesty? No, wait. That was Marco Rubio....Praising Obama to the skies while ignoring his constituents and hanging out with Syrian terrorists? No...that was John McCain. Closing down a bridge for political reasons? Oh yeah, that was Christie. Way to be obscure.
I soured on Cruz when I saw he wanted to “double” legal immigration and greatly increase H1-B visas.
Maybe Sowell needs a bit more time to understand that Cruz is the real deal.
Cruz just sided with Soros backed protestors in Ukraine.
And he made another bad judgement about something not long ago...memory ain’t kicking in though.
Was it the wrong side in Syria? I know Rand Paul did, and I think Cruz might have too.

This is the full article by Sowell in case anyone wants to read it.
Wish Sowell had the same passion to slam McConnell and Boehner’s capitualation to the punk POTUS.
ping to self
However unjustified Senator Cruzs actions, the very fact that a freshman Senator can so quickly gain so many supporters, with so much enthusiasm, ought to be a loud warning to the Republican establishment that they have long been a huge disappointment to a wide range of Republican voters and supporters, he wrote.
I highly respect Dr. Sowell, owning many of his books. I missed these columns, and will try and go back and read them.
When Sowell speaks, I do listen. He has been around for a while, and if he thinks something is amiss, something may be amiss.
I’m far less concerned with Ted Cruz being arguably “self-serving” than I am pleased that he is steadfast in his love of the Constitution.
