Thomas Sowell is a very smart man but I haven't seen Cruz do anything that seemed wrong to me.

Time will tell, but we have been burned before. Cautiously optimistic on Cruz.

I disagree with Sowell’s premise this time.

“Thomas Sowell is a very smart man...”
***********************************************************

It just proves that even smart men can be bought off and end up doing the GOPe’s bidding.

My opinion of Thomas Sowell has just plummeted.

The Republicans need every vote they can get in the Senate ...

WHY?

we have ENOUGH John McLame’s in the Senate! What good would it do to have MORE OF THEM!!?!?!?!

would 10 more John McLame’s stop a SINGLE Obama supreme court appointment?

would 10 more John McLame’s impeach Obama?

much MUCH M-U-C-H more likely... is that 10 more John McCain’s would push through AMNESTY for illegal aliens!

no thanks Thomas!

I respect Sowell enough to grant him some consideration- but I am not sure I agree with him on this one.

I hope it is just a shot-across-the-bow to Cruz to be careful and NOT turn self-serving

Sowell is wrong to attack someone who is separating himself from a sinking ship.

And our side wonders why we dont seem to get anywhere.

Too many people in our ranks trying to be too cute by half.

Guess it’s just more fun to write columns and bitch.

Mr. Sowell has been writing for a half century and has accomplished nothing relative to the left tide. I’ll throw in with Cruz here. He may well be able to stem the tide a bit.

If Sowell is using rhetoric such as “make political trouble”, he has gone to the left side of the equation.

Agree with Dr. Sowell most of the time, but in this area must disagree. Time will tell.

LOL! And everyone is saying that the GOP is going to kick butt in 2014 and 2016. LOL! The commies got this joint in the bag. Big time fascist police state coming. Better prepare. The freeloaders are about to find out that the slavery of communism/Socialism and “free stuff” really sucks.

I think Cruz wanted to flush out some of those who have been stabbing him in the back!

The fact is, Cruz made John Wayne “One Of Us” McCornyn look like the dirt bag that he is and that is GOOD for Texas, GOOD for the US Senate and GOOD for Cruz!

I just think Mr. Sowell is wrong in his assumption that Cruz is doing this just for his own good.

Yet another old line conservative that hasn’t yet allowed himself to understand the sort of battle we are in.

While I generally agree with Sowell, I think he’s off base on this one. As much as the GOPe would like to work with an entrenched ‘apprenticeship’, true conservatives like Cruz don’t fit the mold. And, I dare say the nation doesn’t have the time remaining to muddle through an awkward, drawn out rite of passage for legislators like Cruz to advance to recognized leadership roles.
Cruz is taking the actions that are supported by the American people. If Sowell doesn’t like that, or if it doesn’t fit with his calculus, then Sowell needs to rethink his position.
All the caterwauling from the GOPe doesn’t change the fact that it is past time to DO SOMETHING FOR THE NATION, instead of the GOVERNMENT.
Lacking faith in the GOPe, I’ll stand with Ted Cruz.

Next question is... Who isn’t self serving?..

Obamacare wont be repealed until there is another president.

The infighting is good to slow down amnesty. Sowell opposes amnesty for illegals.

Economist Thomas Sowell, who has long been revered among conservatives, has slammed Sen. Ted Cruz in his last two columns,

Slammed? Really?

What hyperbolic BS. Sowell has fair and reasoned critiques of Cruz. Hardly a SLAM.
