Wisconsin soldier pulled from military funeral duties
A National Guard soldier has been suspended indefinitely from military funeral duties after a picture of her and other soldiers clowning around a training casket surfaced on social media. "We put the FUN in funeral," read the caption on the photo posted on the Instagram account of Spc. Terry Harrison, Fox 47 reports. The Wisconsin National Guard member has been shifted to other duties pending an investigation and the Guard says it has taken steps to ensure her safety after death threats, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Another photo to spark outrage shows Harrison in a car, with a comment complaining about the cold and saying, "Somebody's getting a jacked up flag." The photos and comments drew condemnation from the soldier's superiors all the way up to the Pentagon, where the chief of the National Guard Bureau called them "deplorable," Stars and Stripes reports. "These duties are sacred. Americas fallen deserve nothing less than our deepest respect," he said.
wasn’t Merkel.
Bitch should be dishonorably struck from the Guard for seditious conduct.
When I was in Vietnam the graves registration people near our base camp were very weird people. You really didn’t want to be around them.
Drop kick that bitch across the DMZ into N Korea!
She can yuck it up with Kim Yung Dung.
OOPS, it was the DANISH PM. I stand corrected.
Thank goodness these evil soldiers didn’t do this at Abu Grab, then it might’ve actually made the NYT front page for 65 consecutive days....
Maybe Hillary did by lying at a photo op in front of the coffins of the Benghazi fallen.
Frankly, I think that all of the individuals that participated in that pic deserve some serious brig time and then a BCD or a UD.
It was a training casket. What’s the big deal?
I find it admirable that people are enraged to the point of sending this bitch death threats; she deserves it.
Personally, the goofing around was completely tame and the casket was a training prop, not the real thing.
Death threats in this case are a bit stupid. I think reassigning her and the others to a really crappy detail should be enough.
I’ve worked with JPAC a number of times and have recovered KIA remains in Vietnam. I never saw anything like this, ever. It was pure professionalism and respect for the dead at all times.
Clearly she’s an imbecile and should be strongly encouraged to seek employment elsewhere - say, flipping burgers at the nearest McDonald’s, assuming they’d take her.
What? Do you even know what sedition is?
se·di·tionSure there's disorder resulting, but it's not rebellious at all.
noun: sedition; plural noun: seditions
- conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.
- any action, especially in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion.
- Archaic. rebellious disorder.
I’m wondering the same thing. I sincerely don’t understand the absolute outrage about this. Sure, it’s childish, but damnable? I don’t understand.
Welcome to FR newb. Most folks around here don't find death threats in response to stupid behavior to be commendable. And while her disrespectful behavior is certainly worthy of discipline, it doesn't even rise close to anything worthy of death threats.
I can understand the graves registration people in a combat zone using a dark sense of humor to survive dealing with so much death on a daily basis
these were national guard people In Wisconsin
