Cornyn declares Cruz a threat to nation, has ‘no regrets’ about voting to raise debt limit

AUSTIN – With early voting opening Tuesday, Feb 18, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn angrily attacked Ted Cruz in an interview with The Austin American Statesman, declaring Cruz “bad for America” and boasting “I don’t have any regret” about voting to raise Obama’s debt limit Feb. 12.

A testy Cornyn, speaking with the liberal newspaper last week, declared Cruz’s opposition to raising Obama’s debt limit “bad for the economy, bad for the American people.” Cornyn continued to attack Cruz, telling reporters “he chose the ugly alternative” when Cruz announced he would not support an increase in Obama’s debt limit.

Cornyn faces conservative Republican U.S. Congressman Steve Stockman in the Republican primary. A Human Events poll released Monday shows Cornyn will not win the primary, and would face Stockman in a runoff. Early voting starts today.

In January, Cornyn also attacked Cruz in an interview with “Texas Monthly,” telling the magazine he had hoped he “taught a lesson” to Cruz by voting to kill his filibuster of Obamacare.

“I hope we’ll be less confrontational,” said Cornyn, who voted with Democrats twice to fully fund Obamacare.

“If 41 Republicans had stood together and just voted `no,’ the clean debt ceiling, the bank check President Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi want, would have been denied,” Cruz said on Marc Levin’s radio show Thursday night.

When asked by the paper if he was worried about angering Republicans by voting with Democrats again, Cornyn stated “It was certainly an uncomfortable moment, but I don’t have any regret about the decision.” Cornyn told the paper that voting with Obama is a sign Republicans “are capable of governing.”

I did find this article on Austin American Statesman site. It’s dated Feb. 14, 2014, fyi.

It may, or may not be the article Stockman’s staff was referring to. I couldn’t read the whole article, as you have to register (No thanks!)....

And, don’t forget the McCornyn/Miller/murCOWski kerfuffle, in Alaska’s Senate race.

Cornball was quick to help the traitor Murk and VERY slow to send any assistance to Joe Miller, via the NRSC.

Next up: Senate Majority Leader, TED CRUZ.

I think Lee would be a better Majority Leader. Cruz needs enough independence to keep doing what he's doing, rather than trying to herd cats.

I like Mike Lee as well.

We TEXANS tend to stick together, though.

I voted for Stovall yesterday.

To call Stockman a "professional politician" is a bit of a stretch.

He served one 2-year term about 20 years ago and one year of this term for a total of three years over a twenty year period!

Instead of finding ways to work with Cruz for the good of Texas and the nation, John (All Hat and No Cattle) Cornyn goes out there and criticizes him. The first time he opened his mouth against Cruz, I saw him for what he was: a petulant teenager, engaged in a gang “turf war.”

Here’s news for you, Cornyn: you and your petty “turf wars” are going to be gone pretty soon. You had your chance and you stabbed us in the back. I, for one, will never forget your vote for cloture. You made your choice, now we will make ours. ABC!

That’s true but he’s attempted to get elected other times and failed, and done
consulting work or so he claims. So he’s spent some time in and around politics.

A lawsuit that may unfold or die as time progesses.

Yes, I've seen the story on Patrick. Not sure I believe it yet, but it still may stick. Too bad; I like his commercials about sealing the border.

Also, isn't there someone Cruz had endorsed for Attorney General?

To Mr. Cornyn:

I will quote Cromwell to you:

“You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”

Churchill said it to Chamberlain as well. And I view any GOP establishment type who collaborates with the Dems in the same vein as Chamberlain, and RINOs in the same vein as Vidkun Quisling.

I know he ran for re-election and lost to Lampson. I'm not aware of any other races but I haven't kept up with him.

He was homeless when he first arrived in TX, IIRC.

I don't care what he did...he beat and got rid of Congressman Jack Brooks who really was a career politician. For that, he will forever have my gratitude.

Jack Brooks to a friend, at a Lamar U gathering: Hello. I'm your congressman, Jack Brooks.

My friend: Hello. I'm your next door neighbor whose den you spent last Sat. afternoon in.

I'm glad I voted for Stovall! :)

Although I have yet to decide between STOCKMAN or STOVALL, I have to admit that I was pretty impressed with how both gentleman handled themselves in their interviews with Michael Berry, this morning.

Senator Cruz understands the value of attacking the enemy at multiple points of weakness.

RINO politicians, consultants, strategists, advisors, donors, volunteers, supporters and RINO voters do not understand this, as they tend to focus on one or two points of attack for the entire election campaign.

In this manner, the RINOs ignore the day to day fluctuations of opponent revealed weaknesses, and plod on to their usual, and very comforting defeat.

For example, in 2008 Loser Emeritus “Wacko Birds” McCain publicly admonished those who questioned the validity of then Senator Obama’s sealed birth certificate, thus assuring McCain of another very successful RINO-Style Defeat.

Another example is when RINO Speaker Boehner just last week chose to cave in to his overriding personal phobia of being bad-mouthed by the Left Stream Media, and took off the House calendar the necessary House Debate on the size of the National Poverty Debt Limit, thus guaranteeing the Conservative Democrat and Republican voters will from then on know that RINOs really stand for unlimited Federal Spending.

BTW, notice how many times RINO Rove says: “Republicans should let that go and concentrate on this one point.”

Senators Cruz, Lee and sometimes Rand Paul are wise enough to attack on many fronts, and the double down whenever a weakness is detected.

RINOs have refused to learn that the first rule in Federal Politics is to attack, Attack, ATTACK!

The second rule in Federal Politics is to savagely attack ALL weaknesses as they are revealed.

The third rule of Federal Politics is to accept, without question, that “ALL FEDERAL POLITICS IS NATIONAL.”

Newt, for a brief moment in time, used that wisdom to construct his very successful National “Contract with America.”

Newt’s wisdom soon quickly rejected by the rank and file RINO failure leadership.

No political Wing of any political party has ever enjoyed losing as much as the now obsolete, failed RINO Wing of the Republican Party.

House Member elected, House Sobber Boehner even lends a Soap Opera touch to many RINO cave in losses by sobbing frequently.

Democrats and all RINOs still believe the “Tipsy’” O’Neal failed con slogan which states: ‘All politics is local.’

Democrats and RINOs have used this failed slogan with great success to expand the number of non-working, non-taxpayers on their ballooning Welfare Plantation, paid for by borrowing to increase the National Poverty Debt.

In summary, RINOs belong in the Museum of Failed Politicians, (MOFP), and not on the taxpayer’s payroll.

Make 2014 the year of the extinct Federal RINO!
