TEXAS SENATE: Will we "Cruz" to Victory or "Todd Aikin" our way to Defeat? (Vanity)

First of all, I'm a native Texan and a Ronald Reagan-style Republican. Not a drop of RINO blood in me. And, I want to go on record saying I loathe John Cornyn and I've had high hopes of seeing him defeated in the GOP Primary this year. But, I have some real concerns that Cornyn could win reelection if we blow the March 4th GOP Primary. We could miss a great opportunity like Missouri did by nominating Todd Aikin, who had the IQ of a foot stool, and gave Barack Obama's girlfriend, Claire McCaskill another six years. Are my fears well founded. Well, consider..........

STEVE STOCKMAN: He has been my Congressman both times he served and I am NOT voting for the guy. Why? Because if he makes the Primary Run-off Election, Cornyn and team will pull out all the dirt they've been stockpiling on him, just waiting for the Run-Off Election. The guy has more baggage than an Amtrak Train. Investigated by FEC, filed bankruptcy, lied about his jail time, etc., etc., etc. And I guarantee you, there will be stuff come out that we've never yet heard. The Beaumont (TX) Enterprise has already done two front-page, Sunday edition stories on him: One, his FEC investigations and secondly his absenteeism from House votes. My question is: With all the money Conservatives have sent him, why is there not one Radio or TV ad? All he has for a state-wide campaign is Twitter, e-mail addresses and a seldom-traveled blog. Where is all the campaign money? Why is he not out on the campaign trail? One newspaper called him the "Absentee Candidate". The one, and only, interview I heard him give on Radio Station KLVI during his first Congressional Term, was a telephone interview, and I swear the dude was drunk. If Stockman is in the run-off, he will be our Todd Aikin and Cornyn will get another six years to screw us.

DWAYNE STOVALL: I had high-hopes for Mr. Stovall, but, you know, in this day and age, the Press can crucify you over the silliest things. I wish to goodness he would not have done that "Turtle" Ad. When I saw it, I thought: "Oh no; this will come back to bite him." And sure enough the bad pub is starting to roll off the presses. But, that's nothing compared to the following.

CHRIS MAPP: This is our candidate who said all Mexicans were "wet backs". I read it in the Dallas Morning News after being informed of it, via a Private Message, here on FR. Yeah; that will really play well in a run-off election.

So, all we can do is vote our conscience. I'm probably going to vote for Stovall because I think he has the best chance of getting more votes than Stockman. But, I'm also looking seriously at Linda Vega, Reid Reasor or Ken Cope. And let me say in closing: I'll vote for whomever is Cornyn's run-off opponent and hope for the best.

Well, I hope that means you think that Tennessee is fairly likely and have reasons for it—it looks like a long shot to me, but I haven’t heard much lately.

Look, I have no special knowledge of Texas of Tennessee politics..just a sense from what I read.. I think that there's a lot of dissatisfaction with Cornyn. In a very short campaign, 8 weeks, like this one..a lot of people are voting against him, but it's a truism also that many people need to vote FOR someone..and there's not a strong candidate in Texas..which is why I think it's the least likely of the states to pull the upset.

Tennessee's primary is in August..I think it's the last of the 5...so assume a decent anti-Cornyn showing, and then Tea party wins..or at least forcing run-offs.. in SC, KY, and Miss, and by the time Tennessee rolls around..you're gonna see $$ and volunteers pouring into the state, and the TP types will have the momentum. Also, Alexander's a lousy candidate..

The reason I’m not voting for Reasor or Cope is because it would be a vote for Stockman. I believe Dwayne Stovall has the best chance of beating Stockman out of 2nd place.

Let me answer one of the questions I asked in my Vanity Post about Stockman: Where is all the campaign money going that people have sent to him? No Radio / TV Ads.... no newspaper ads... no yard signs or billboards...... no campaign appearances..... Where is his campaign money going? Well, I found out this morning that he had $160,000 campaign debt from his Congressional run. Now, I think I know why he ran in this race; to get money to pay off his prior debts. If he’s in the run-off, I’ll vote for him, but, I’ve decided on Dwayne Stovall for my Primary vote.

Well, you have a right to be upset. I’m just taking issue with your conclusions about Akin and McCaskill’s having supernatural abilities. If Akin had made his comments BEFORE the primary, I’d have likely switched candidate endorsements or remained neutral. I still put him in the same camp as Mourdock in Indiana. They were on track to winning and they committed unfortunate gaffes that cost them.

Unfortunately, you well know that our candidates are held to ludicrously high standards that Jesus would have a difficult time meeting. Conversely, the Democrats nominate liars, degenerates and frauds and nobody bats an eyelash. I thought it was terrible that our side threw Akin and Mourdock both under the bus after they uttered some un-PC comments.

As for Willard, I have no problem with anyone ascribing the worst possible motives to him. He is a Socialist, a fraud, a phony, a liar, and a ringer and had no intention of doing anything else than keeping a Conservative from being nominated and similarly making sure Zero got his second term (pretty much playing the same part McCain did in 2008). I rang the bell about that fraud for six years running, since I knew him very well and his goals, and he proved out everything that I said and then some.
