Jakarta (AFP) - US Secretary of State John Kerry Sunday issued a clarion call for nations to do to more to combat climate change, calling it "the world's largest weapon of mass destruction".
In a keynote speech, one of a series planned in different countries throughout the year, Kerry sought to make both a moral and economic argument for greater urgency in cutting greenhouse gases.
He warned that low-lying Asian nations and their rich ecosystems were particularly at peril from rising sea levels.
Talking to a crowd of Indonesian agriculture, energy and marine students, he said the country and Southeast Asia were "on the frontlines of climate change".
"It's not an exaggeration to say to you that the entire way of life that you live and love is at risk," Kerry said at a US-run cultural centre in Jakarta, in a speech also fed live to hubs on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra....

I love how the economic terrorists are now sticking to the term “climate change” like crazy glue on skin. Oh no no no, no global warming not with all the snow and freezing temps, now it’s “climate change”. Reminds me when economic terrorist Al Gore showed the photos of the mountain in Italy with snow and then without snow blaming it on global warming until someone pointed out the photos of the mountain were taken in winter then in summer. S now it is “climate change” as in the the changing seasons. So now their rational is simply when the seasons change the public must pay.

“Combatting climate change” - just how do you do that?
Raise taxes to confiscatory levels, implement and enforce regulations that make the conversion of “fossil fuel” into wealth creation and distribution too expensive to use, go for cockamamie schemes bordering on the development of “perpetual motion” as the “solutions” of choice, and stifle all dialogue because the discussion is finished and “climate change” is settled science.
I would say the program is well on its way.
Jean-Francois Kerre` is entirely correct about one thing, though. The call to arms on climate change DOES assure a bleak future.
