Full Title Governor Cuomos Selective Anti-Gun Fervor: And This Is Why So Many Americans Have No Respect for Laws Or Lawmakers
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been the source of some of the most excessive anti-gun rants making up the sorry legacy of the Post Sandy Hook Ethics Train Wreck. It was a year ago that a unveiled a package of strict gun restrictions, saying that with the senseless massacre in Newtown, Connecticut New York must say enough is enough to gun violence. Oh, Gov. Cuomo hates guns, believe you me.
So what do you think happened when it was revealed that Jerome Hauer, Cuomos Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Commissioner appointed in 2011, had not only been carrying a handgun to work ever since, but also, incredibly, took out the gun and used the laser sighting device attached to the barrel as a pointer in a presentation to a Swedish delegation on Oct. 24? Hauer was not only breaking the Cuomo-backed law barring state employees from packing a weapon at their workplace, but also was modeling the kind of ignorant and dangerous firearm misuse that undermines any claim that he was a safe, responsible, well-trained gun owner.
What happened appears to be this: as soon as the Governor got word that Hauers illegal and reckless conduct was about to be revealed in the press, the Homeland Security chief received a quick waiver from New Yorks Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn Destito. The waiver, of course, could not make his prior conduct legal.

“Many Americans Have No Respect for Laws”
I fear this is where we are headed. I do not know how intentiaonal it is, but my fear is we will become like an Argentina, Brazil, Italy, etc., where we have no faith, no respect in the laws, the police, the politicians, and ultimately anything. Once that is lost, it will be a very hard thing to regain.

The pistol laser pointer apparatchik responds-sort of.
I have absolutely no doubt that we are well on the way there now and will most certainly get there. There will be no going back in our lifetimes. Several generations at best.
I consider myself a sovereign citizen. I am no longer subject to the laws that the government thinks it passes to restrict my freedoms. Further, the police are no longer public servants, they are now agents of tyranny.
I certainly an not governed by an inferior like Princess Andrew. He’s just another dumb dago in an expensive suit.
Why should people respect laws that dont apply to friends or employees of the lawmakers? Why should they respect laws that can be changed on a whim, or passed for purely political purposes?
Respect for the law is earned, not legislated by despotic hypocrites.
Dittos ping.
If the Feral government doesn't have to follow the rules, why should the ‘little people’?
Here’s my message to Cuomo ..........
Gun maker Remington Outdoor Co. to open manufacturing plant, employ about 2,000 in Huntsville

Their key manufacturing facility has been in NY for a very long time. Seems a good move by Remington. Goodbye, NY. That’s 2000+ more jobs.
What’s the use of having laws if you can’t use them to punish your enemies and help your friends?
Cuomo was born on third but thinks he hit a triple... His biggest talent was picking the right father.
NY ping
Respect for just laws is a good thing. Respect for a law simply because it’s a law is one of the Achilles heels that conservatives will have to reckon with. Ultimately tyrants rely on obedience to their dictates to achieve their aims.
You might want to check out what the Free State Project is doing in NH before you book your flight. While they’re distinctly libertarian as opposed to conservative, their idea of utopia is a heck of a lot more tolerable than that offered by the marxists.
