Walk around and ask a thousand residents of LA...if they have some urgent need to get to San Jose in thirty minutes. I’m guessing that fifty percent will admit they’ve only been to San Jose once in their life, and another forty-eight percent will admit that it’d be nice but when you quote the price of $170 round-trip....per person....well, it’s not worth that.

It’ll destroy political trust for decades....if they build this and six months after opening....there’s less than twenty people every six hours....who ride the bullet train.

“A startling display of disdain for both the voters and for the initiative process.”

Yeah, Newsom is from the “Barky Obama School of Law Observance! Unless there’s some intervening “change” in our laws regarding the use funds approved through the initiative process, ole Any Twosome Newsom may find “redirection” tough to accomplish. Particularly since there’s already a Federal Judge who’s tied up the Train to Nowhere Project’s financing because the State hasn’t provided the necessary “spending plan.”

68 BILLION!!!!
Are you F’ing kidding me?
68 BILLION?

The Boondoggle known as the Big Dig here in Boston ONLY cost us 16 BILLION PLUS, 400% over budget and THAT only took 15 years and now looks like complete crap as well as being an engineering DISASTER.
68 BILLION???
Are these fruits and nuts COMPLETELY out of their minds?
Why not buy the welfare trolls a Rolls Royce each instead and save 65 BILLION?

God, I am sorry but I really truly HATE the left.

We need that giant earthquake YESTERDAY!

Of course, he wants to spend the 9 billion on other projects.

California could consider just not borrowing the money. Or is that too stupid?

Here’s what could have been done in California.

15 la to Vegas is often a parking lot. Especially weekends. Once people get to Vegas they can easily do without a car.

A high speed train from Burbank to Barstow and one from Ontario to Barstow. 1 stop each, Palmdale and Victorville.

Lines converge in Barstow and one line to Vegas with a stop at state line.

The governor of cal should go to Nevada and meet with mayor of Vegas, Nevada gov, and casino owners. $5 a night room tax to fund the line and supplement operations, if necessary.

Only public funds are to review plans, inspect, review environmental report, provide fight away.

Gambling available on the trains.
