As in the previous Sen. Lindsey Graham phone town hall meeting, there was no warning; the phone rang and it was Sen. Graham conducting the town hall meeting. Senator Graham expressed his genuine concern for each caller, asking if they are warm and have power. He explained he was "stuck" in Washington, DC, since all flights out of DC were cancelled. The implication was that he would rather be headed back to South Carolina to be with "his people".
Senator Graham answered numerous calls that were presented to be random participants of the town hall meeting (dial *3 to get in line to ask a question). All of the callers were were pro Sen. Graham except for one caller, who accused Sen. Graham of voting for Obamacare, for which Lindsey straightened him out and they departed best friends forever. Most of the callers were polished, and all but the previously mentioned asked softball questions. One caller asked if Lindsey would consider running for President, but he replied "there are already plenty of qualified candidates running in June" (Freudian slip; that is when the SC Senate primary for Lindsey's seat occurs). He corrected that to "in 2016".
My opportunity to ask a question never came up, although I waited and listened to the whole town hall meeting. Even though I am a shaky telephone caller, my question would have been one of the two:
1) Senator Graham, just within the past year, you and Senator McCain campaigned for war against Syria. Don't you think the people of South Carolina have had enough wars in the past decade?
2) Senator Graham, why did you ally with Senator McCain in trying to get amnesty passed, when you know Senator McCain is not popular in South Carolina, and amnesty is not in the best interests in workers in your state who are seeking employment, nor in the best interests of SC taxpayers who must pay for their benefits.
Wish I'd had a dollar for each time Senator Graham used the word "conservative". I have attended a Mark Sanford telephone town hall meeting, and it lasted 3 times as long with many times more questions. It was obvious from Mark's town hall meeting that the calls were really at random, since some were definitely not supportive.
We in SC have suffered the past 11 years with Senator Graham, and have a good chance to replace him with a reliable conservative. It will take a candidate with name recognition (Trey Gowdy or Mark Sanford, etc.) to unseat the maverick McCain understudy Lindsey Graham. Help us defeat Lindesy Graham!
However, it may take a well known politician to defeat Senator Graham. Huckabee is running lots of radio ads extolling the virtue of "conservative" Senator Lindsey Graham. The GOPe seems to support Lindsey.
We cannot afford to send Lindsey back to Washington.
In the past 11 years, I don’t recall Lindsey ever hosting a telephone town hall meeting. This is telephone town hall meeting #2 in three months. I confess, I listened to all of both of them.
I got a phone call from my recently traitorous Congressman, Doug Collins who voted for the Boehner/Ryan Debt Capitulation, telling me he was live on the phone and ready to have a town hall meeting. I hung up on his a$$. I’d already told him I won’t ever be voting for him again.
I am not happy about this type of representation.
Well, I certainly hope you and like-minded voters put this SOB out of office soundly. He is a traitor and an enemy to honest hard working people.
I wouldn’t be happy either. That’s the mosty weaselly thing I ever heard of as a mode of “connecting” with potential voters in order to allow questions.
I hope that somehow Lee Bright is able to lure him into SC to some sort of debate or at least opportunity for the locals to have a real chance to ask him some tough questions rather than planted softballs.
It's for good reason that several counties in the state have CENSURED Mini McQueeg.
“telephone town hall meeting.”
Is that like a “virtual fence” ?
I completely understand how SC’s primary will operate.
To me (and I could be wrong), Graham will be one of the candiates going to the run-off. I’m not sure who the other one will be.
I’ve followed this race for mnay months now and can’t quite get a good feel for who the best candidate is against Graham in the run-off.
Commonm wisdom says that the candidates who don’t make it thru the primary will coalesce behind whomever is challenging Graham. Do all of you believe that to be true? I’m afraid the conservatives will beat up one another in the primary and the cash-depleted and bruised winner will face Graham.
Anyone wanna offer some serious input as to who the best candidate is (not just idelogically - but in terms of the ability to campaign, raise money and offer a coherent message) in South Carolina?
lindsey IS GOPe, that’s why they support him.
I guess Huckabee has plenty of rino viewers. Even though he said he wants the word “rino” removed from the English language. Then none of his viewers would be “rinos”.
“dial *3 to get in line “
Ha! I dial that to pay my Sprint bill here in Ohio!
This is the GOP elite strategy. Unfortunately, it disenfranchises the voters. That is why we need Trey Gowdy or Mark Sanford to enter the race.
Lindsey is a weasel and the telephone town hall is a sham. No more Shamnesties for Grahamnesty!!!
It was obviously one of those rigged telephone “townhall meetings” in which the questioners are all screened and approved supporters. I’ve heard them before myself.
I am really concerned that we are going to be electing Lindsey for the third time, and that Lindsey will team up with his buddy McCain again and conspire in mischief.
No, they won’t Lee Bright is running against Obama Reid Schumer by way of Graham, and not touching the others at all. That’s why Bright is dominating the challenger primary.

We have reason to believe he IS rattled .
I am sure Lee would make a much better Senator!
and with the exception of one challenger’s social media trolls slamming Lee Bright, none of the challengers are running against other challengers.
