Feb 10 (Reuters) - American doubles luger Christian Niccum branded as "ridiculous and sad" a promotional video from a diversity group featuring two athletes rocking back and forth on a sled with the message that the Olympic Games "have always been a little gay".
In the 33-second video, released by the Canadian Institute of Diversity and Inclusion (CIDI), two figures sit at the start of a luge track, clad in black Lycra with red helmets and black face masks, and suggestively sway in slow motion.
Accompanied by British 1980s electronic pop band Human League's hit song "Don't You want me baby", a tagline flashes "The Games have always been a little gay. Let's fight to keep them that way."
In luge doubles, one competitor lies snugly on top of another.
"It's a gross misrepresentation of everything. All of it seems like a lie to me," Niccum, the oldest member of the American luge team at 36 and now a three-time Olympian, told Reuters.
"To compare sports to sexuality is ridiculous," added Niccum of the video, which can be viewed on the Toronto-based organisation's website (www.cidi-icdi.ca).

"In your face" seems to be the only way they know how to advance their agenda. Whether it be kissing in public, public gay "marriage" or suing bakers or photographers who refuse to participate, they certainly like to shock and disgust those of us who believe that such activities should be behind closed doors, if at all. And, of course, liberal judges and now the US AG do what they can to give them the "rights" that voters and state legislatures say belong to traditional married male-female unions.

This person is right—these athletes have trained for years, worked hard and sacrificed a lot. Comparing that to some sort of gay tryst is ridiculous. It’s dismissive of the commitment these athletes have made.
I agree with Niccum 100%. The video is typical narcissistic selfish self-promotion by activists. There is no doubt other “gay” atheletes at the Olympics who just want to be known for their talent, and they’re not walking around wearing pink triangle lapel pins, and their not associating with the sexually suggestive video; though no doubt the promoters of the video WANT the “gay” atheletes to do just that - make a spectacle of themselves. I think most “gays” know and admit that on a personal level DADT works.

No pride flag over city hall.
Sault Ste Marie won't be joining a long list of Canadian cities raising the rainbow flag in solidarity with LGBTQ athletes, says the mayor. She is a woman mayor and seems well liked.
We read further, that our mayor has stated simply this.
The city does not raise flags in support of any protest
A gentleman, who is formerly from the city and now is an arts director in far off Toronto has expressed his disapproval. He is "not proud" and refers to persons in Sault Ste Marie who would be disappointed. He uses the term "young queer people" in referring to the homosexuals.
This border city with its twin in Michigan is noted for being quite a decent old place. There has been no nastiness toward persons who prefer the same sex.
Trust outsiders to try to spoil things.
