Kevin Faulconer recaptured the mayors office in San Diego for Republicans in a special election yesterday. The polls were skin-tight leading into yesterdays election, and unions poured in millions to keep control in the nations eighth-largest city.
But in the end the vaunted Obama election model flood the zone with negative attack ads and excite the base of the Democratic party flopped. Faulconer defeated fellow City Council member David Alvarez by nine points in a city that Barack Obama carried by 63 percent to 37 percent only 15 months ago.

How conservative is Faulconer? And I’m not talking Kalifornia “conservative.”
good job San D. i pray you elected a good one.
They are going to have to “Find” many uncounted ballots to overcome, plus suppress the mail-in and military ballots.
A tall order.
“I’ve always been willing to work with anyone with good ideas. I’ve lead numerous bi-partisan coalitions, including, passing a measure that preserves and protects Mission Bay for generations to come, and funding the permanent downtown homeless shelter, the veterans shelter and the winter homeless shelter so that homeless women, children and veterans have the resources they need to help get back on their feet.”

Special off-season election turnout favors Republicans heavily, and there were scandals preceding. Polls don’t model turnout well. And turnout machines have tough going in these things.
Not a very good predictor for November unfortunately.
Absentee ballots apparently only count if the are for the radical left wing extremists demokkkrat scumbags. If they are for the conservative(?) they are lost or didn’t arrive in time or some other reason for them to be tossed out.
A tall order.
They can always scavenge around in Illinois or even in Minnesota for any extra ballots they might need. After all, "It all in the (Marxist) family".
If the Democrat contender were in ANY way tied to the Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut, in Washington, the center of power for that territory once known as “the United States of America”, then this does not augur well for the 2014 election in November. At least, not for the Democrats.
Might be a little dicey for liberal Republicans, too, but with luck a goodly number of them will be primaried out.
A white guy (democrat) was elected mayor of Detroit against the wishes of the local democrat party. It was largely due to the fact that our SOS has a boot on the neck of the democrat fraud machine in Michigan.
He was denied ballot access, ran and won the primary as a write in, the locals stripped him of votes and gave the accepted candidate the win. The SOS made them count his votes which gave him the primary win and he went on to win over the preferred candidate.
Now that’s just wrong. How dare he actually win. Why, that’s racis’.
Thanks - we in SD are happy. It was funny to watch the newsmedia be so sad that there was no drama - it was never close. Mr. Alvarez was the last to know it was over, it looked like he wasn’t being advised as to how to bow out gracefully. Didn’t even have the class to concede when 86% of the precincts (with a good 9-10 pt spread) reported and sent out a tweet for his concession - how low class!!
The absentee votes from Mexicans who might immigrate illegally to the US in the next 10 years, or know someone who has immigrated or plans to immigrate illegally, or have heard of someone who has immigrated or plans to immigrate illegally haven’t been counted yet.
Ultra white even. Mike Duggan is a balding white guy with blue eyes.
There has to be van loads of uncounted votes somewhere. All dim of course.
They can do 4 or 5 points really easy - blatantly, unbelievably. They aren’t geared up for 10-12 points though.
most of alvarez’s funding came from public employee unions. Conflict of interest and part of the California bribery cycle.
alvarez also had almost 3 times the money 4.2 mil vs 1.7.
