Obama is having a grand old time with his socialist buddy President Francois Hollande of France on his visit, and for the first time ever, Americans will get a view of just how much a State dinner costs them. It took thirteen months for the State Department to respond to the request for the costs of such dinners, but here they are! CBS News has obtained the Office of Protocols expense calculations for the first five state dinners of the Obama presidency. Nov. 24, 2009 State dinner for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India. $572,187.36 May 19, 2010 State dinner for President

And how much did they spend for the Israeli state dinner?
You mean when Obama showed Obama the back door?
Correction: Netanyahu the back door..
Isn’t something like this the case for all Presidents?
Article I, section 9: “No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law; and a regular statement and account of receipts and expenditures of all public money shall be published from time to time.”
I presume, therefore, that the GOP majority in the House of Representatives has consented (again and again) to these expenditures?
It is often overlooked that the slush fund of the kicked back Soylendra loans can be spent as the President desires
That was a most contemptible, disloyal act towards a loyal ally of the United States.
A State dinner is hardly a party.
How does this compare to the cost of state dinners under Bush?
No idea how it compares to Bush. It would be more interesting to compare it to the Clinton donor “Breakfasts”.
If there were a comparison to be made I believe CBS would of mentioned it.
I’m curious as to why there is a $350,000 difference between the dinner for Merkel and the dinner for the president of India? More people invited? Entertainment? Did they roast an elephant or something?
These pretenders love to grouse about the rich and the plight about the poor all the while immersing themselves in obscene opulence. This is just another in seemingly endless list of things they are given a pass on by his media cheerleaders. These creeps are going to miss the trappings of the White House more than any former administration has in modern history.
but he is concerned about inequality.... lol
John LeCarre writes, in “Absolute Friends” : “There is nothing in the Communist Manifesto that forbids a little luxury to those who have deserved it.”
And if a little luxury is good, then a lot must be better. And who, if not The One and The Mrs., have not truly earned it?
“These creeps are going to miss the trappings of the White House more than any former administration has in modern history.”
What makes you think they’re leaving? ;)
