He hasn't been behind the wheel since 1992, but there still is only one King of NASCAR, and when Richard Petty speaks, the words carry some weight.
On the subject of Danica Patrick's chances of winning in her second full season behind the wheel of a Sprint Cup car, Petty is quite clear.

Oh boy, he has an opinion that is likely to cause an "evil white male" alert.

Ahem. Rules.
And by rules, I mean Danica, not Petty.

There are a bunch of other NASCAR drivers with about the same chance she has, but like her, they show up.

Danica is great for the sport. She’s also a sponsor magnet. She’s pleasant to look upon, but sadly, is only a mediocre driver.

LOL perfect timing for the publicity runup to the Daytona 500.
The reality is that in a restrictor plate race at Daytona or Talladega, ANY car in the field can win. It’s really just a factor of who’s drafting, who’s wrecking, and who’s pushing on that last lap.
Danica did win a race in Indycar on a fuel economy gamble that worked out. That happens in Nascar too, but not very often.

I recall seeing her posing beside an NFL QB. I was surprised how tiny she is.

If she hadn’t bit the sneaker at the Glen, she might well have been a winner on two circuits.. Ya never know.
Just stayz out da bushes!

Not much over 5 feet. When she was running the 1500# Indycars, her low body mass was a notable advantage. Then they changed the rules to ballast for equal total weight with driver.
