The National Security Agencys headquarters in Ft. Meade, Md., will go dark if a cohort of Maryland lawmakers has its way.
Eight Republicans in the 141-member Maryland House of Delegates introduced legislation Thursday that would deny the electronic spy agency material support, participation or assistance in any form from the state, its political subdivisions or companies with state contracts.
The bill would deprive NSA facilities water and electricity carried over public utilities, ban the use of NSA-derived evidence in state courts and prevent state universities from partnering with the NSA on research.

Good! I hope they actually do it. I understand there’s a similar effort in Washington state.
Maryland Dems will kill it.
The feds would just extort another two or three billion dollars from taxpayers to add a solar power ssystem and drill wells or fly water in on helicopters.
Turn off their sewer service. That will get them out of the building quicker than anything.
I would think they would use diesel generators, but that’s just me. Mobile on 18 wheelers.
This is a really good strategy and should be done to the ATF, IRS, and all the other agencies that are just arms of the Democrat Party.
The feds will step in, end of story. Either way, all of the states surrounding DC are part of the DC power structure, and would very unlikely bite the hand of the master that feeds them.

That’s funny.
Or they would allocate hundreds of millions for a new facility in Virginia.
It’s too bad they can’t include the TSA molesters along with the NSA.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
We’re talking about the electronic evesdropping arm of the US intelligence community here.
Chances are they have the ability to survive for a long time, a very long time, if public utilities are cutoff. Whether by peeved lawmakers or by thermonuclear bombs ...
This idea will fail. What’s keeping Virginia from doing the same to the Pentagon if they don’t like a war we’re fighting, for example?
What? I had to go to the link to make sure this was not satire.
Thats a big thumbs up!
This is pretty ding dong interesting and about ding dang time. I’m emailing this story to everyone in my Addressbook. Any Republican candidate who runs on this issue will win. But that Republican candidate would have to have the yarbles these gentlemen have.
The big data center is in Utah. It has huge diesel motor generators and storage tanks to run without any outside power for at least 30+ days.
Well, let’s turn off the power and find out.
