I noticed that too. Then add in utilities of about $1,000 a month, annual lawn care, and insurance. Easily $100K+ a year in “overhead”. But very nice digs if you’ve got the scratch.

That’s less than 2% of the estimated value. I pay more than that in Ohio. But $3.6 million is probably 1200 square feet on Long Island.

"Only" $57,000 on a $3.6 million dollar home?
I'm getting ROBBED here in IL! I'm paying $8,500 on a home valued at just about $300k.
NY property taxes look like a BARGAIN compared to IL! It's Sunday so I don't even want to do the calc to see the difference in tax rates ... don't need to start cursing as we get ready to go to church.
