Clint Eastwood saved a choking man's life with the Heimlich maneuver at a party on the eve of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am tournament Wednesday night at the Monterey Conference Center.
The 83-year-old actor administered the Heimlich maneuver to tournament director Steve John, 50, who was choking on a piece of cheese, The Associated Press reported.

''I was drinking water and eating these little appetizers, threw down a piece of cheese and it just didn't work,'' John said Friday. ''I was looking at him and couldn't breathe. He recognized it immediately and saved my life.''
A former amateur contestant and now chairman of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, Eastwood is a prominent figure at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am who frequently presents the trophy to the winner. He has raised over $100 million for charity as the host of the 72-hole PGA Tour championship, the AP noted.

“A mans gotta know his limitations”
Good one, musicman!

You gonna stand there and choke to death....or are ya feeling lucky?
You gonna turn around...or you gonna wheeze Dixie?
What is it with these people who punish those that courageously do the right thing? WTF?
You know that could work too bad Lee Van Cleff is dead they could get the guy who play Mike Franks from NCIS play his charter
Eli Wallach still alive he still going at age of 95
Went to the Hog’s Breath Inn back in the day for drinks. The bar was way in the back down a brick-lined, gaslamp-lit alleyway. It was like a hunting lodge out of some Medieval time.
He looked the cheese clearly in the eye and said
“Well do ya, punk”?
I actually got to thank Dr. Heimlich for saving my life. I was got the end of an ice cream cone caught in my throat and couldn’t breathe, couldn’t talk, and my brother in law turned around and gave me the maneuver, very shortly after it was developed!! I waited on him at Shillito’s in downtown Cincy, and couldn’t thank him enough......I would have died.
I actually saw it performed on a war hero at luncheon where Tx AG Greg Abbott was speaking. His security detail applied the maneuver and all was well. Scary, but a happy ending.
I love that guy.
He brings a smile to my face too. I had a huge crush on him when he was on Rawhide. :)
Take THAT, all you liberal losers who said he was senile.
We have a family hunting lodge.I think I’ll name it Hog’s Breath Inn! That sounds perfect! :)
He was quite the dude back then. I can see why.
I’m a guy, so it’s not the same for me, but I’ve always liked him. He played a good character on Rawhide. I was too young to fully appreciate his role, but I did come away with a positive image of him.
It remains to this day.
Glad to help. It was the name of Clint’s restaurant in Carmel in the late 80s-early 90s.
