A friend of mines brother was eating at a wedding reception, minding his own business. Behind him two drunks got into an argument; the music was so loud no one heard them at first. One of these fools threw a wild roundhouse punch that connected with the back of Eric’s head. Eric went face down in his food and never moved again. It was prosecuted as negligent homicide IIRC

As it should have been. This perp should have gotten a 2nd degree murder charge at minimum, regardless of intent. What did the jag-off who killed your friend get?

Loud music in bars makes sense because bar owners want people to buy drinks - NOT to sit around talking and having a good time on the cheap. But at a wedding? Tacky beyond words...

It’s so pointless to fight. If you win you could kill the guy or someone else. It’s just not worth it to keep from being seen as less than a man.

Sometimes you can’t avoid it, and I realize that, but folks get hot-headed at parties and social gatherings and it never turns out well.
