A Predator drone designed to catch terrorists in Afghanistan was used to track a recalcitrant North Dakota rancher and his sons accused of cattle thieving and monitor them to see when they were unarmed and alert the police in a case believed to be the first where an American citizen was arrested with the aid of a drone.
On Jan. 14, 2014, Rodney Brossart was acquitted of stealing cattle and criminal mischief, but convicted of terrorizing police (a conviction he is appealing) and sentenced to three years in prison with all but six months suspended.
This all stems from an incident on June 22, 2011, when six cattle from a neighboring property wandered onto Brossarts ranch. Brossart found the cattle and, not knowing to whom they belonged, penned them in an area known as the missile site.
Brossart refused to return the cattle without remuneration (which he is entitled to under state law), but the police asserted that Brossart needed to return the cattle to the neighbor under estray laws.

It worked. More to come soon I'm afraid.
I don’t talk to cops or consent to searches without a warrant, but this guy has a long history of not playing well with others.
The procedure for getting compensated does not allow for holding the cattle hostage while demanding excessive compensation and running up a bigger feed bill. Sorta like tow truck company storage fees.
This guy brought the shitstorm on himself and then tries to wrap himself in the flag and claim jackboot oppression.
One thing conservatives need to be careful of is getting jacked up over the wrong causes.
Obama shouldn’t be allowed to determine the rules on drone engagement when it comes to law enforcement.
Drones should never have been approved for use over the US.
Because they're sovereign and the government doesn't have jurisdiction over them.
That kind of takes all the fun out of SWAT and armored breaching vehicles doesn't it?
I have been in and through Andrews many times... on my way to Eunice, NM or Kermit, TX. This is the first I have heard of open carry problems in Andrews.

The ones I've known don't bother with driver's licenses, vehicle registration, or income taxes. They call themselves 'sovereign citizens' as if they are their own government.
And when they run afoul of that other government, the one that the rest of us grudgingly adhere to, things get interesting and sometimes violent.
One of my coworkers bought into the sovereign citizen idea that income taxes didn't apply to him and he improved his standard of living during the years that he escaped the notice of the IRS. When they caught up with him his lifestyle took a turn for the worse. But at least he wasn't violent and didn't add that to his problems.
I’ve set up an ADIZ up to 25k’ on my property. Anyone entering my airspace is a potential target. Aircraft must request permission prior to entering and include a flight pan for entry , exit and altitude.

I wasn’t born on this ranch but I’ve been here since Mom was able to leave the hospital, that was almost 64 years ago. I and my family have been at this business for over 100 years. Cows get in and cows get out, if a fence goes down you and your neighbor fix it, if cows crossed y’all gathered them up and got them back where they belong. This is called being a neighbor. My Grand Dad got injured pretty bad back in the late 30’s and neighbors from all around helped work cows when needed. 3 years ago we had a bad fire and half of the ranch burnt taking out the fences between us and the ranch to the west. We had cows every where and it took about 6 months to get them all back where they belong. Not once over all these years has anybody demanded compenstion, it was offered and as always refused. That fine young man pleading to press looks to be the poster boy for what a jerk neighbor would be. These are old ranches down here and we’re all old friends we don’t extort money from each other. Now selling and trading is a whole different game and the old timers held it to a fine art, my Grand Dad was one of the best.

Credit for attempting to resolve it with discussion and low-levels of impact.
Good Sheriff. Sorry he was pushed to this level.

I don't think that was what they were met for.
Actually it is.
Security cameras are used to monitor for criminal action
A drone is merely a movable security camera.
Pull the car over or I'll have to vaporize you.
