The former host of a Cooking Channel cocktail show was discovered dead in his Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment, police told the New York Post.
Mixologist Darryl Robinson, 50, of “Drink Up,” was found on the second floor of his Greene Avenue apartment, near Bedford Avenue around 12:30 a.m. after a concerned friend reached out to police, the sources told The Post.
He was found laying face down on his bed, a source said. He was fully clothed.
Robinson posted his last cocktail creation, the "Smoking Super Bowl" to his website on Feb. 1.

If you ever watched NYPD Blue you’d know that the police “reach out” to people all the time. So I guess people “reach out” to the police.
BTW: When AT&T was advertising heavily for Long Distance, back in the seventies and eighties, people were reporting that virtually every sermon they heard concluded with an exhortation to “reach out and touch” other people, God, etc.

Reached out? I am so sick of that stupid phrase! It’s everywhere! Why can’t they say that the friend contacted police? To me “reaching out” to someone implies a compassionate gesture of some sort. /rant

Look up the death of Nelson Rockefeller in 1978. Not even his lifetime resume could make up for the bizarre circumstances of his end at the hands of Megan Marschak.
IIRC, the family ordered immediate cremation with no autopsy; a disposal technique often used by the Kennedys.

IIRC, Rocky suffered a heart attack while on top of Meghan, but did not immediately die. She `extricated’ herself, called a friend, and dithered for an hour over whether to call an ambulance. Sometime during her delay in summoning help was when Rockefeller succumbed.
There is apparently no truth to the rumor that Rockefeller staffers clothed the body in a business suit and propped it up in a chair with a copy of the Wall Street Journal and with the shoes on the wrong feet, before summoning police.
As noted, Nelson Rockefeller’s record of private & civic achievement up until his death at 70, including a run for the Presidency, is quite impressive; but that’s not what is recalled whenever his name is brought up.
