Whats the difference between 2 liters for a 5 yo, and a few gallons for an adult over 50 at colonoscopy time?

The couple admits to 2.4 liters. They also admit she vomited and urinated herself. IMHO... the 2.4 liters is off. The couple made this little one drink a lot of fluid until her little brain swelled.

An investigation revealed the girl had been forced to drink approximately 2.4 liters of water and soda over one to two hours as punishment.

Punishment? For what? Article doesn't say.

I’d imagine the colonoscopy fluids balance levels of potassium and sodium with the body. A lot of water will cause cells to lose these to the point of harm.
