Joe Biden's niece, Caroline Biden, got into some trouble with the law last fall, getting herself arrested after taking a swing at a cop who responded to a call about a fight Biden got in with her roommate. But because no cops were injured, prosecutors agreed to let her avoid jail and to dismiss her case if she stays out of trouble. Biden wasn't in court (she's at an inpatient facility for "her issues"), but her two lawyers "presented a sworn affidavit indicating she would accept the offer."
Yes, because that’s what would have happened to ANY of us that took a swipe at a peace officer... I think I’ll give it a try on the way home today... /s
There are two kinds of lawbreakers in this country:
1. Amateur lawbreakers
2. Professional lawbreakers.
In D.C., small amounts of type 1 surround a large collection of type 2s (otherwise known as congresscritters).
The guillotine.
Now!
They can’t run their own lives, but they know they can run ours.
SIMPLY AMAZING!
Easily the least amazing thing I'll read all week.
Another case of “affluenza” and political connections that exempt Democrats and their kin from prosecution. Now that is an issue of “fairness” that Obama will never touch.
Guilty in more ways than one, LOL
Taking her uncle’s advice, she should have used a shotgun?
I can’t tell if that stare is because she’s OFF her meds, or ON new ones..
I like the cupholder in that pic..
If it’s a hospital rig, that’s for the oxy bottle
Get a dog to chase her from DE to TX to slim her down, and she might rate a not guilty verdict.
nicely played!
I suspect her “glamor shots” pics look decent.
Obviously for the courtroom appearance they wanted her lookin’ ragged.
Mayor Daley’s nephew killed a guy in a fight outside a local Chicago bar, and it took almost 10 years, a special prosecutor, and the end of Daley’s term in office to get him to trial.
And in the end, found guilty of manslaughter, he got 60 days, another 60 in house arrest and a fine.
It’s good to be king.
Holy Sh|t... Where is Dexter Morgan when you need him...
outrageous...
However, I DO resent that the cop tore his own uniform after he'd hauled us off to jail, and lied on the police report, saying that I did it.
Happily, the judge somehow knew the cop was a liar and evidence fabricator. The judge nonetheless scared the hell out of me (scared some sense into me, I should say!), and the night I spent in jail was, overall, beneficial!! {^)
That said, I don't care if it IS Joe Biden's niece -- NOBODY should go to prison for hitting a cop. Jail for a night or two, okay, but prison for nothing more than taking a swipe at a cop? Those are some wildly messed up priorities. I call authoritarian control-freak bullsh*t.
