In an effort to find common ground, President Obama suggested that he and Bill O'Reilly both received a little help to make it through college. But Obama didn't realize he was talking to a rugged, bootstrap-pulling individualist who subsidized his education through his own blood, sweat and tears.
During the unedited portion of O'Reilly's Super Bowl Sunday interview, Obama explained that he has "not massively expanded the welfare state." The government's current support structure, Obama said, isn't all that different from "thirty years ago, forty years ago, fifty years ago."
"You and I took advantage of certain things. I dont know about you, but I got some loans to go to college," Obama said.
But a self-described "self-reliance guy" like O'Reilly didn't need any government largess, thank you very much.
"Nah, I painted houses, I didnt get any," O'Reilly responded. "See, that's who I am."
Obama was quick to say that he painted houses in the summer, too.
"It still wasnt enough," he told O'Reilly.

Oh, balderdash!
Todays first insult to my intelligence.
Is this another lie? I doubt he painted houses more than a few days or never at all. Maybe he painted his mentors house for a few hours in between the mentoring sessions Frank Marshall Davis
Obama claims he worked as a house painter?
Sure. I believe that. /s
I cant sit through more than a few minutes (if that) of O’Reilly.
I do enjoy Megyn Kelly’s show though, its a blast!
Obama was quick to say that he painted houses in the summer>>>>>>>
Any painting at casa Obama was done by Moochelle. Plumbing too probably
Didn’t Hitler work as a house painter too?
Obummer stole that house painter thing from Hannity.
What is insulting is when someone lies in your face, and you know he is lying, and he knows that you know that he is lying, and does it anyway.
Yeah....just like he hung curtains, too.
That’s great that Bill didn’t need student loans, but government backed loans for students isn’t a program I’m necessarily against. Of course I think it should be revenue neutral (interest rates set so that government doesn’t lose money) and that dead-beats are held accountable just like with any loan. Loans are just that...loans....not Welfare and helping people who are helping themselves is never an issue.
With all of that said, the student loan program is inefficient, many students never make any payments, and the government does next to nothing to hold them account.....so, what the hell else is new? I’m even depressed when I agree with some of the crap the government does!!!
>>I cant sit through more than a few minutes (if that) of OReilly.
I gave up on BOR more than a decade ago due to his overinflated ego. I can’t imagine trying to watch BOR and BHO on screen at the same time.
If O’Reilly had said he’d worked as a waiter, Obama would have said, “I was a waiter, too!” He’s pathetic.
On the other hand, O’Reilly’s “That’s who I am,” is pretty pathetic, too.
Ain't no way that schmuck painted houses....
I'd buy it if Obama claimed he "worked in pharmaceutical sales". But physical labor? Naah.
lol
