[history]
It seems like a lot of people are eager to throw a punch at George Zimmerman.
At least, that's how Celebrity Boxing owner Damon Feldman made it sound when he told CNN that, within an hour of opening applications to challenge Zimmerman, he had more than 8,000 people eager to share the ring.

The only thing that surprises me is that there are still people who act like George Zimmerman was some kind of hero. Please. I’ll admit that Trayvon Martin wasn’t a purely innocent victim, but neither was Zimmerman. Also, timing the announcement for Trayvon’s birthday was repulsive, regardless of how one feels about the shooting.

All I can say is that Zimmerman better hope they don’t allow DMX to kill him like some kind of modern gladiatorial execution.

“Time for conservatives to disassociate from this clown.”
Excellent point. I’ve been calling for that since the shooting happened.

Zimmerman is the new Tonya Harding. Next he’ll get a gig on Tru TV’s “America’s Dumbest . . .”

from what I could tell, the association was not with him but the principle of self defense and the right to carry and to fight back against bullies.
The two became conflated in the eyes of the media and the entire case became a classic example of the left trying to take advantage of someone’s misfortune to further their own agenda.

Zimmerman must be hurting for money.
That's the only logical explanation.

The George Zimmerman hero worship on this board always puzzled me. He always came across to me as some overzealous “mall cop” type. Not saying he should have been found guilty but most people would not have gotten themselves into that situation in the first place.
