Following Dylan Farrows harrowing letter describing sexual molestation she says she suffered from father Woody Allen her brother Moses is speaking out to defend Allen, accusing their mother Mia of poisoning them against their father.
Responding to accusation first made 20 years ago that has bitterly divided the family, Moses accused Mia Farrow of turning him and Dylan against Allen as revenge for his affair with Soon-Yi.
Of course Woody did not molest my sister, says Moses, who is estranged from Mia Farrow and remains close to Allen and Soon-Yi.
My mother drummed it into me to hate my father for tearing apart the family and sexually molesting my sister, Moses, 36, tells People Magazines new issue. And I hated him for her for years. I see now that this was a vengeful way to pay him back for falling in love with Soon-Yi.
Allen, 78, has denied abusing Dylan, arguing that Farrow, 69, coached Dylan, an accusation that Farrow refutes. Allen was investigated when the allegation was first made but not charged with molestation.
Speaking of Dylans childhood relationship with the Hollywood director, Moses continued, She loved him and looked forward to seeing him when he would visit. She never hid from him until our mother succeeded in creating the atmosphere of fear and hate towards him.
The day in question, there were six or seven of us in the house. We were all in public rooms and no one, not my father or sister, was off in any private spaces. My mother was conveniently out shopping.
I dont know if my sister really believes she was molested or is trying to please her mother. Pleasing my mother was very powerful motivation because to be on her wrong side was horrible.

Six feet on top of it, takin’ a whiz.
I haven’t seen a Woody Allen movie in a couple decades at least.
I just think the whole business is so warped if not definitively criminal that we may as well be a little careful about the details we do know.
Why I even care I don’t know...except the accusation seems warped and carefully timed as well.
Then we agree. Why am I interested? I don’t know either!
Has there EVER been ANY evidence that Woody actually did molest this girl? Other than her saying it happened?
Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. These kinds of claims are sketchy, even when made contemporaneously. Coming this many years later?? Might as well accuse him of murder.
NO WAY for anyone else to know the truth.
If Dylan has convinced herself of the abuse, she could probably pass a lie detector test.
If there was no proof 20 years ago, there probably won't be any found now, no matter how much ink is spilled on the story.
I never was a Woody Allen fan; his movies were a little too parochial, New York, upper middle class Jewish angsty for me.
So you think Woody’s a stand up guy.
Good for you.
I still think it’s gross that a guy somewhere in his 40’s or 50’s doing the nasty with a 19-21 year old girl who was his wife’s adopted daughter is sick.
Did he play Barbie’s with her? You seem awful knowledgeable about this so did he?
Okay - I don’t have any proof that he molested Dylan. From what I’ve seen of his movies and his personal antics, it would sure seem to be within his character.
I always found his brand of comedy a little depressing, actually. A bit morose.
I think they should throw Allen and Mia Farrow in jail.
I can’t stand Woody Allen.
He’s another rich liberal douche bag and because of that he can get away with anything.
If I had been accused of this, it would at least be investigated to the fullest extent of the law.
Price I pay for not being important.
And that’s how things roll in Obamaland.
Soon-yi was not Allen’s adopted daughter but she WAS the adopted SISTER of Woody’s biological child. Nasty enough for me. I don’t know the truth about the alleged molestation. Only two people do.
Yesterday I tussled with a reflexive Allen-as-artistic- genius fan or two.
Today? Maybe it’s that I get sick of the pervert charge at times smearing a man or a family who can never fully exonerate himself/themselves.
This bit from Moses seems somehow more convincing than some of the rest of it. But who knows, he could be wack too.
Enough!
If this was anyone else, he would be 100% screwed in the court of public opinion.
The accusation alone equal guilt and mia farrow knows that. (as does every participant in divorce and in particular divorce lawyers and judges)
Married 17 years now that he’s an old fart with a much younger wife. Third marriage, plus Farrow and Keaton. Dunno if that truly qualifies as stand-up. Paul Newman, now HE was stand up.
This man started a relationship with his girlfriends daughter, and went public only when she turned legal age.
The fact is that he was with Mia when this girl was just 9 or 10 years old. They took family vacations together, and were pictured together as a family.
Also, I sure wouldn't be getting my Woody Allen talking points from the Daily Beast.
In the aftermath of the Amirault case, during which MA AG railroaded a couple of day-care operators, I'm disinclined to believe many cases of alleged child abuse. Kids are very susceptible to adult suggestion and will say what adults want them to say (or do, in the case of the Cambodian genocide, during which kids were major players in the extermination of over a million "rightists").
Go ahead and defend your child molester and then tell me of your moral superiority.
Nonetheless, even if you think he’s scum, loathe his politics (I think we all do here at FR), and can’t stand his films, Mr. Allen — like all of us — deserves not to be the subject of false accusations, which has been the main content of this thread.
As to whether or not the main accusation this thread is (supposedly) about is true or not, I have no idea. It might be, or it might be an example of false memory syndrome. Taking up with a nubile 19 or 20 year old, while creepy for someone my age (which currently happens to be the age Allen was when they started their relationship), is hardly evidence of pedophile tendencies.
I made no false accusations. I said only two people knew. I also voiced my opinion that taking up with his son’s adoptive sister was creepy no matter what.
Oh, and I said my idea of a stand up guy was different.
