The Congressional Budget Office is out with its latest report on the Affordable Care Act, and here are a few bottom lines:
The ACA is cheaper than it expected.
It will "markedly increase" the number of Americans with health insurance.
The risk-adjustment provisions, which Congressional Republicans want to overturn as a "bailout" of the insurance industry, will actually turn a profit to the U.S. Treasury.
Given all this, why are the first news headlines on the CBO report depicting it as calling Obamacare a job killer?
(snip) ..... it's important to examine what the CBO actually says about the ACA's impact on the labor market.
The CBO projects that the act will reduce the supply of labor, not the availability of jobs. There's a big difference. In fact, it suggests that aggregate demand for labor (that is, the number of jobs) will increase, not decrease; but that many workers or would-be workers will be prompted by the ACA to leave the labor force, many of them voluntarily.

This is nuts but I expect no less from progressives
Media, scribes for the Oligarch
Here is another view of same issue:
Just read Hiltzik’s bio, seems he was reprimanded by his own LA Times a while back for posting comments on his own blog and website using fictitious names. Hmmmmmmmm. Sounds like the typical Pulitzer Prize winner.
So my country is now under the complete control of delusional people.
Thanks, that makes me feel SO much better! /sarc
But healthcare is only one issue. Who would leave the workforce just because of healthcare? You still have to feed your family, put gas in the car, pay the mortgage/rent, increase retirement funds, etc. Basket-weaving will provide none of that.
I understand that that may be the point: to force everyone to depend on the government for everything eventually. But that way lies madness, of course.
Welfare is Employment
It's called Psychological survival. I said in an early thread that the last remaining Hope and Changers don't simple just spin for this administration. They have created a whole new reality for themselves because the real world under Obama is too much for them to face.
The scary part is many of them are in journalism
> I checked twice to make sure this wasnt a satire piece! These people live in some bizarre alternate reality.
Too much spoiling and coddling a child with an education paid for by their rich liberal parents and then not having to really work for a living produces liberal idiots. You see the results of this in Hollywood on a daily basis where they received their position by birthright.
I saw a poll a while back were the news media is less trusted than Congress. That's what's frustrating them. The news media is upset because the public ain't buying the spin, anymore.
I've read more than one news outlet trying to claim this CBO report is actually good news. Conservatives should be very optimistic. When they are reduced to claiming that more ObamaCare bad news is actually good, it's further evidence the left is losing control of the narrative and expect the excuses to get more and more ridiculous
“Lets not forget that the CBO is still garbage-in garbage-out.”
Exactly. The real question is who supplied the scenario?
The really good news is that at least some of the MSM are beginning to question some of the “answers” given by the Regime, when they used to just swoon.
More jobs because more part time work, excellent! More projected good news, lower health care costs because of shorter life expectancy.
Leftists really must love death and destruction. Their ideal city is Detroit.
