Congratulations to my Beloved
ROFLOL! Good advice - - I definitely will - -I’ll save those for a FReep or a Tea Party event ;-)
Enjoy your parade. Just keep it real. It’s just a game.
Thanks. Will do. And, absolutely agree! That’s what we tell my nephew when his team loses (soccer or basketball) - it’s only a game, you guys did your best (if they actually did.
Hi fellow Hawks fan! Isn’t it great!!! :-) (it only took us 38 years to get here).
Peyton shirts were selling big in Indiana last week. He’s had and is doing so much for his charities in Indiana we still feel his presence here. We have been fortunate to have some very good men play for the Colts. They are very community oriented and the community responds well to that
Luck will become better with experience BUT as the game showed Sunday it must be a cohesive team effort. Something you certainly demonstrated
Enjoy!

I think that’s another reason the Seattle-metro community has been so supportive of the Seahawks. A lot of the players, staff and even Paul Allen (who let us keep the Hawks here) do a lot for the community. As an example, Russell Wilson and his wife go to the Seattle Children’s Hospital almost every week. Not for media photo ops, but to visit in the rooms with the kids and the family (said he felt compelled to do something like this after his father’s illness). He also has a Passing Camp for underprivilged kids in various cities as do some of the other players. I wasn’t aware of these things until last week. And, I think you’ll find this interesting - - when Russell was younger, he went to Peyton’s camp for kids!
LOL!
Peyton’s a good guy, I did start to feel a little sorry for him late in the game.
I heard that in an interview Payton suggested that Russell looked familiar in one of their first meetings as professionals. Russell explained the camp connection and Payton told him which camp. Cool!
38 years is right! I remember the old Zorn, Krieg, Largent, Curt Warner days, those were fun! Remember when the Krieg led Seahawks beat the heavily favored Cowboys on Thanksgiving day?
I have pointed out to some people that the rest of the year, we are watching the Mariners.
Oh, I sure do remember that game and all of those guys - used to go to games at the Kingdome (was a little sad watching it go down) or from home. My folks and aunt and uncle have had season tickets since day one, my dear Mother went to be with God in 2011 and my uncle last year. Us “kids” took over the tickets a few years back.
I still LOVE Largent - great guy and a great conservative! Wish he’d get back into OK politics.
I know! They showed a close-up of him at one point, and, honestly, the guy looked shell-shocked. I almost felt sorry for him -- almost. Been watching this team all season and they played the same game they have been playing all season. I had to ask myself, "what team did Denver prepare for? Because it certainly wasn't the Seahawks".
That’s so true - - wish the Mariners would get better (loved it when that had Edgar Martinez (my fav), Griffey, Jr., Randy and some of the others.
Maybe the Sounders (our soccer team for those that don’t know) will do well this year and I still keep hoping we get the Sonics back.
Well, there’s always the Seattle Storm (a pretty good women’s basketball team).
Totally agree! And, the Seahawks said they were going to play essentially the same for the SB as they had all season. I normally don’t read sports sites or watch sports news much (I’m not a guy, so not really my thing ;-), but they were even saying Seahawks defense said they aren’t going to really change things up from what they had been doing. Apparently, Denver didn’t hear/read the same things I did.
As a Virginian, reading that really pounds home an understanding of this state's doom. I think I'll go throw up.
Seattle Conservative, congratulations on your team's win; have fun at your parade. My conservative WA friend sure wishes she and her family could be there.
On ESPN 710 they are taking calls and texts in from all over the place - one just came in from Vermont. The TV estimates 500,000 on the streets or more. The radio guy thinks it is closer to a million. They plan that the football and the baseball stadium next door (with big screens) will be filled for the speeches (116,000 capacity total).
On the TV after the game there were perhaps 20-30 of the Seahawks that knelt while one of the players said a prayer.
And I think it is fine to enjoy it. It’s been a fun year. And the talk about idol worship - I suppose one runs the risk of that. One of the players when asked about the media day before the Superbowl said something like “This is nuts. It’s not like we are heros like our military or firefighters - we’re football players!”
And I was surprised to hear something that Marshawn Lynch likes to say: “It’s JUST football.”
Starting to second-guess our decision not to pull our kids out of school and make the trek into Seattle.
Quite a few mentions/references to ‘skittles’ during the parade broadcast today. Do you know what connection Seattle, the Hawks, and their fans have to or with skittles candies?
