The impacts of EPAs ruling will affect many families. According to the U.S. Census Bureaus 2011 survey statistics, 2.4 million American housing units (12 percent of all homes) burned wood as their primary heating fuel, compared with 7 percent that depended upon fuel oil.
Local governments in some states have gone even further than EPA, not only banning the sale of noncompliant stoves, but even their use as fireplaces. As a result, owners face fines for infractions. Puget Sound, Washington is one such location. Montréal, Canada proposes to eliminate all fireplaces within its city limits.
Only weeks after EPA enacted its new stove rules, attorneys general of seven states sued the agency to crack down on wood-burning water heaters as well. The lawsuit was filed by Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont, all predominately Democrat states. Claiming that EPAs new regulations didnt go far enough to decrease particle pollution levels, the plaintiffs cited agency estimates that outdoor wood boilers will produce more than 20 percent of wood-burning emissions by 2017. A related suit was filed by the environmental group Earth Justice.

They claim it is to reduce air pollution. It really is to discourage rural, independent living and to force you onto the grid, which they also will control.
Even Republicans.
"Kamerades! A meeting concerning the recent breaking of glass of businesses owned by the Juden will take place at 1938 KleineStrasse!
Bring personal effects suitable for a weekend. Discussion periods are planned. Showers will be made available for those who need them.
Amen.
Impeach Obama in 2014. Period.
Of course, because people with woodlots could be self-sufficient. We can’t have that. No, they must buy taxed and regulated fuels in approved quantities.
You mean, kind of like Cali did some time ago by giving small business owners a nice tax break and then later penalized them retroactively and assessed millions of dollars in taxes because their 'tax break' was too expensive for the State?
Yeah. Watch how bloody quickly their standards morph into something more revenue-enhancing once the new laws come into effect.
Imagine if the cops were ordered to start confiscation of weapons in Everytown, USA. Then imagine if there was 250 teams of men and women who decided to shoot one policeman in their city/town/community each day until confiscation of weapons halted. How long do you think it would be before you wouldnt be able to find a single solitary cop IN UNIFORM anywhere? Would you drive an official cop car on patrol if you knew someone in your town was going to use it as a target that day?
Those are the things my local cops discuss. Interesting, huh?
The EPA is a fascist organization beholden to the warmist kooks. It should be abolished and the people in it forced to get real jobs.
Government is navigating TOTAL CONTROL over YOU and YOUR LIVES.
Think you’re gonna be a Prepper?
Guess again, you LAW BREAKER!
BAN wood burning stoves? What? You mean wood burning stoves that have been around as long as this country has existed and beyond? WHAT?
That’s not all. They’ve banned rain barrels too.
What about wood stoves built into fireplaces?
The dirty effing b@stards can stop me from heating my house with wood eh? Right. Just try it. Their ashes will be sent up the chimney flue and spread out over several dozen acres.
Can you believe this EPA?
Thank goodness for steel plate and flux-core MIG welders.
The regulator agencies fall under the executive and are thus we should be protected from their abuse if there were any gonads anywhere around to challenge the out of control executive branch. My vote at this point is shut them down by force.
I am not “moving over”!
I don't think going after existing stoves or fireplaces is going to bring in much revenue. The real revenue is in electric power and fuels that they an tax. Obama wants electricity rates to skyrocket and that isn't to save the planet, but to get revenue to pay off his campaign contributors. The key to getting all the money is to keep people from buying new wood stoves. My stove is about $100 a month whereas propane would run about $500 a month even before the taxes Obama would want.
OTOH you have a point. These regulations are like gun laws, first they ban they sale of something but allow you to "keep" existing ones, then they turn around and ban the existing ones. IMO if they do that with wood stoves they would get enough backlash to lose significant political power. So while I am against their encroachment, it s the kind of political fight I would like to have.
If you like your Wood, you can keep your Wood, period.
So that's cool? You seem to be suggesting there is no problem with that.
How many thousands involved in that industry will lose their butts, homes and livelihood?
Ya think the EPA and their corrupt mobsters bosses in D.C., will stop there?
The new proposed regs cover fireplace inserts too. Just not plain fireplaces.
