FReeper Canteen ~ Sunday Chapel ~ CHANGE FOR BETTER SERVICE ~ 02 February 2014
Serving The Best Troops and Veterans In The World !! | The Canteen Crew

CHANGE FOR BETTER SERVICE

Have you ever noticed that the typewriter keyboard places the most frequently used keys far apart from each other? The purpose of this arrangement was to slow down the typing speed. Keys on the machines of the 1800s used to jam if the typist went too fast.

About 40 years ago, the Dvorak Simplified Keyboard was developed. On this keyboard, the most frequently used keys were in the home row, and the right hand did 56 percent more work than the left. Typists using this keyboard could increase their speed up to five times without increasing in error.

Still, we continue with a keyboard designed to be inefficient. Why? We don't like changes. Mark Twain once said, "Only a wet baby welcomes a change."

However, today's military requires innovative, out-of-the-box thinking. Whether we like it or not, we change every day.

Prayer: Almighty God. Help us to be more creative, thoughtful, and pro-active in serving our country. Amen.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

One of my favorites as well. When I sang with the Chancel Choir at Westmoreland Congregational Church some thirty years ago our soloists were all members of the Singing Sergeants. Daisy Jackson, Soprano, and George Singleton, Bass, both soloists at Westmoreland, are featured in the album this cut is taken from. Both great singers, great Patriots, and great disciples of Our Lord.

Daisy has recently gone to her reward, and is sorely missed. George is retired from the Air Force and pursuing another career as a photographer.

Good evening, Mayor, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to The Mayor family.

Thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.

Are you still in the deep freeze? It’s high teens here, but no snow in sight.

No Yard sales or rehearsal today, as I attended a student’s confirmation and party afterward. Then I got a phone call, my pastor had a small motorcycle accident, so tomorrow is going to be difficult.

Sending prayers of healing for your pastor.

Congratulations to your student.

A few Bible readings by the congregants and some music...God will understand.

I had to go look....

Wile E. Coyote (also known simply as "The Coyote") and The Road Runner are a duo of cartoon characters from a series of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons. The characters (a coyote and Greater Roadrunner) were created by animation director Chuck Jones in 1948 for Warner Bros., while the template for their adventures was the work of writer Michael Maltese. The characters star in a long-running series of theatrical cartoon shorts (the first 16 of which were written by Maltese) and occasional made-for-television cartoons.

thank You...I will go early and set up and rehearse the band, and can always do some bible Verses between songs if I have to.

On the Other hand, I pray that Pastor Jerry will be 100% healed in the morning!

In probably every episode, Wile E. Coyote uses some prop such as a rocket, Anvil etc. They are always marked “Acme”.

John-Man did not BBQ today - events overtook us. We are ready to party with family for the SB. We're bringing some kind of dish - I don't know what - Mrs. MacNessa is taking care of that. Also a few bottles of wine and some ale. It should be good!
