A 19-year-old who lived at home with his mom and worked at a local call center stole the identities of America's rich and famous — including Kim Kardashian and the head of the FBI — and took over their financial accounts.....
...Earlier this week, Flores learned he'll spend the next 3 1/2 years in federal prison for his identity theft scheme.....
....At the time, Flores was already facing criminal charges in state court, where he was accused of taking private information from a coworker's personnel profile and having his colleague's paycheck directly deposited into his own bank account. Flores was fired from the AT&T call center where he worked, and eventually convicted in that case, court records said.
....According to court records, authorities uncovered other fraudulent activity linking Flores to financial accounts owned by actor Ashton Kutcher, U.S. Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton, and reality star Paris Hilton.
On June 15, then-director of the FBI Robert Mueller received an email notifying him that information on his Chase Bank credit card was changed. Court records said the name on the card was changed to Luis Flores, and the address changed to his Lake Mary apartment.
Meanwhile, American Express authorities told agents that numerous fraudulent online applications for new accounts were opened via the Internet that were associated with Flores. Those applications were in the names of Hilton and Kutcher.
On June 24, agents searched Flores and Green's apartment and found a flash drive that contained Social Security numbers, bank and credit card accounts and credit reports for all of the victims in the case, as well as Vice President Joe Biden, First Lady Michelle Obama, Bill Gates, Beyonce Knowles and other politicians.
Agents said the information came from a website launched by hackers last year......

Our government has looked the other was on identity theft for decades now. You are expected to pay some outside agency to scour all transactions for anything that may have transpired in your name.

I agree with you. And I bet these crimes got special attention because of who the victims were.
Instead of hiring IRS agents to prosecute people who can’t afford insurance. They should be hiring identity thief detectives and prosecuting each and every identity theft to the max.

Something is missing in this story - it doesn’t add up.

“Luis Flores, Jr., 19, and his mother, Kyah Green, 41, were arrested in August on federal charges. Flores pleaded guilty in October and has been sentenced to three and a half years in federal prison for credit card fraud and aggravated identity theft. The court also entered a money judgment for $16,802.
Green pleaded guilty to covering up Flores’ crimes and was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to pay restitution of the same amount for ATM withdrawals she took out of a bank account in which Flores had accrued more than $71,000, according to authorities.”

Yes....I’d like to say that I personally think that Kanye spoke up for the accused’s sentencing and begged the judge to let the perp keep her identity - he was spending a whole lot less than that gold-digging circus tent.

And you would hire him to do this for what reason to believe him? To me it is tantamount to hiring a convicted pedophile to manage a day-care because he has experience with kids. This Flores scum knew what he was doing when he did it and furthermore he found ways around the system which he will also do for his own personal gain. All this while being employed by the government, who we all know is incapable of doing anything for the commoners.
He only got caught because he chose high value targets both in the political and social circles.
