NEW YORK (AP) -- CNN's Carol Costello was more than prepared for her contentious live interview with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed on Wednesday, having spent frustrating hours caught in the epic traffic snarls caused by the rare Southern snowstorm.
Unlike other motorists, Costello wasn't stranded overnight in her car, but it took two tries and more than three hours for her to drive two miles to her home Tuesday from the news network's Atlanta headquarters.

Here on the Gulf Coast of Florida’s Panhandle, our ALL bridges were closed from Tuesday night till Thursday morning due to ice. We have no salt stockpiles and have never needed any in my lifetime. Nobody here is complaining, whining and bitching about it. Weather happens.................

Yes! Atlanta should have a full compliment of snow removal equipment and mountains of ash and salt for the roads. It should all be ready and maintained! I cannot understand your cavalier attitude. After all, doesnt Phoenix have a huge multimillion dollar fleet of lifeboats standing by in case of rising water?/ Thanks for the strawman fallacy filled argument. I never said that Atlanta should have a "full compliment" of snow removal equipment and "mountains" of ash and salt.
LOL.
Don't do that.

Seems like it would be easy to suck up some salt water from the ocean and spray on.
That wouldn’t work if it was Minnesota cold, but for high 20s....

Yes it probably would work, if we had the means to deliver it.
All the salt from Sam’s and other places like Home Depot and Lowes that people use for water softeners and salt water pools was bought up by the Sheriff’s department, or so I heard.............

Yeah, everybody complains about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.

Just an FYI, Greta Van Sustern reported the other night that Atlanta just purchased 2-3 million dollars worth of snow removal equipment. Don’t think it was used the other day.....

Why the hell didnt she walk? She probably wanted to get there alive. CNN is on the edge of the jungle. Lots of ferals in the area, although they were probably inside where it was warm.

Treating the roads with sand and salt before a two inch snow storm is basic local government. Anything short of that is pathetic. If it started raining bananas in your neighborhood, whould you have the required banana removal equipment?
Atlanta should just close the roads when they have snow. It would be cheaper than all other alternatives.

I wanted to get answers from the man who was supposed to be protecting me from that and I didn't get that.
Unexpected! In reality, that's what all Liberals do in response to questions... reply with personal attacks, shift the blame and announce, "I'm moving forward."

That's what would have happened had the mayor declared a preemptive state of emergency the night before.
But he didn't - he was probably too busy watching Øbama speech reruns.

I guess in your world it does rain bananas on occasion. In the real world it does snow. Ice storms are much more dangerous. In my stupid little town in southern MS. we closed the schools, sanded the roads and didn’t have any problems. Of course we are not a big intelligent city like Atlanta.
Their excuse? We didn’t know it was coming. Hell we knew and talked about it for at least two days prior to the storm hitting. It doesn’t require much equipment. Just the sense to make the right calls and do something rather than sit on your ass.
