Washington (CNN) - The end of 2013 may have been rough going for President Barack Obama, but political strife over Obamacare’s botched rollout and NSA spying didn’t cross over into his family life, according to the first lady.
When Obama got his “butt kicked,” his daughters didn’t offer too much sympathy, Michelle Obama told Ryan Seacrest Thursday in a radio interview.
“Oh dad, tough luck,” was Sasha and Malia’s response, the first lady said. “By the way, where’s my allowance?”
Family dinners and time at home is largely kept politics-free, she explained. Talk instead centers on school, history, and what’s on the table – including the occasional “finish your vegetables” conversation.
“I’m surprised at how little they care about our days,” she said of her two teenage girls. “They want to talk about their lives and what they’re going through.”

What a weird thing to say....
A liberal being quoted on a liberal network...I don’t believe they care what you or I think.
Why should the girls care? surely they’re used to their dear, sweet, unfortunately-looking mama knock him around all the time. Just how it is to them.
I had a conversation about teenage girls with a friend the other day. it was our observation, that most the young girls we knew in high school, were not able to describe to us the occupation of their father. They seemed to be quite ignorant of it.
on the other hand, the guys we knew could explain their father’s occupation, often with a healthy dose of disdain.
I’ve observed this in my own daughters... bless their hearts. I don’t care about the fact that they were not interested in my occupation.
Didn’t George Clooney say that to his daughters, he was still Dad the dork, something to that effect?
Daughters have their own agenda, and at age 13-18, it has little to do with Dad.
I’d be more worried if they did have political opinions. Anyone who is 16 and younger and has political opinions larger than “save the polar bear”, I would have serious worries about.
I’m old-fashioned. Ladies should not talk this way.

She actually phrased it this way to a reporter? What a crude way to talk for a First Lady.
That’s pretty sad, actually. Here they have the educational opportunity of a lifetime — an experience very few will ever have ...and yet somehow they’re not paying attention?
Maybe if their mother made them pay attention, they would. Something tells me they basically get ignored, as Mama has other things on her mind, like hobnobbing with Oprah and the rest of the gang in the Hamptons.
I seriously doubt the kenyan faggot even fathered the two of them.
I do notice a difference in Palin’s daughters.
No big deal, any girl could kick his butt anyway.
