The drama surrounding Donald Trump's potential campaign for governor appears headed for an extended runat least until Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino makes a formal announcement about running.
Trump, appearing on an Albany radio station this morning, said he is ready, willing and able to run for governor but will not do so if Astorino or anybody else enters the race. Trump also ruled out taking his potential candidacy to the state GOP convention in the spring.
I really want unity, said Trump, who is scheduled to address a GOP fundraiser in Buffalo Friday. I want to go in there right from the beginning and I want to go in swinging right from the beginning. I dont want to be knocking Rob or knocking anybody else to win a primary.

The same conservatives that worship Trump were fooled by her, for exactly the same reasons (some ultra liberal RINO douchebag who is a non-starter as a "candidate" goes on TV every night and starts screaming about how they're going to "expose" Obama)
Nicely put, my exact same thoughts. Its too unrealistic for me to be imaginative about, my mind comes back with 'You question is in error'. He and Palin are Show People, and they are good at it.
To move to a slightly more more relevant direction : What if Romney beat Obama?
Now that one I can imagine. I didn't think it would happen but it was possible.
I will let you all go first.
If Willard had won ? We’d get shamnesty, federal spending would still be sky high and they’d be attempting to “manage” ZeroCare rather than kill it dead. The GOP would be headed towards dramatic losses in this year’s election (losing the House at the minimum, dropping to 40 or fewer Senate seats, loss of 10 Governorships). Hillary measuring the drapes for 2016. Pretty much a complete RINO fiasco.
Well put,
That is pretty much the vision that I saw too.
Bush had ‘national security’ to keep many Republicans with him to the end, even though by 2008 the GOP polled lower than Dems on both that and taxes.
But what base supporters would Romney have had last year as he made deals with Dems (as Bush did in 2008) and tried to get GOP House to pass them? I think even less than GWB did in 2008.
It would have been very ugly as you articulate above.

Like what we already have.
