(Reuters) - Light arms supplied by the United States are flowing to “moderate” Syrian rebel factions in the south of the country and U.S. funding for months of further deliveries has been approved by Congress, according U.S. and European security officials.

The weapons, most of which are moving to non-Islamist Syrian rebels via Jordan, include a variety of small arms, as well as some more powerful weapons, such as anti-tank rockets.

Seems like we want the regime to topple to the terrorists then we can justify sending troops to die fighting the terrorists! I love it when a plan comes together.

THIS is the sort of stuff most Americans do NOT want the US government involved in. It's not that we're isolationists. Most of us simply want much, much less interference in other nations. The only exception would be for those nations that directly threaten VITAL US national interests.

I would love to hear either the Obama administration or our own neoconservatives, like McCain, explain how the Syrian revolution is of a vital national interest to the US. While the administration is at it, I'd also love to know why the State Department considers the export of abortion and homosexuality (by arm twisting other nations) is vital to our foreign policy.

After Lockerbie Reagan ordered airstrikes against Kaddafi, who later went on a decades-long hobby of buying up MANPADS big-time. Right before the fall Libya had 21,000,of them.

Intel Ops are always more quiet if they don’t require huge amounts of outside funding, so why not help knock off Syria with barely guarded muzziles laying around in Libya..?
