As dark clouds continue to gather over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, all but the most diehard Obama worshipers grudgingly concede that his presidency has entered its lame duck phase. Some analysts have drawn comparisons between the second term of the current occupant of the White House and that of his immediate predecessor.
Bruce Drake, writing at Pew Research Centers Fact Tank, notes:
Barack Obama and George Bush have at least one thing in common when it comes to the second terms they won the first year of their encores have been downers when it came to their public images. Both experienced falloffs in overall job approval and in Americans perceptions of their leadership, ability to get things done and trustworthiness. For one observer, even last nights State of the Union address had an oddly familiar ring, sounding like something George W. Bush might have said. Thats because the words were something Bush did say. Mark Thiessen, the observer in question and lead Bush speechwriter, had written them for Bushs 2007 SOTU.
Appearing on The Kelly File, Thiessen said:
It was eerily familiar. There were lines like, Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy. A future of hope and opportunity requires our citizens have affordable and available health care. Extending opportunity and hope depends on a stable supply of energy. All of that came from the 2007 State of the Union address by George W. Bush. So, Barack Obama has gone from blaming George W. bush to plagiarizing George W. Bush.

Obama: Well, I’m just as upset about this as you are! Make no mistake, I will get to the bottom of this.
If Bush loved the USA he would have stopped the illegal alien invasion. After 9/11 he could have stopped all immigration. Bush and his party had control of the whole federal government for six years and all they did was expand the power, scope, and cost of government. I don't think they rolled back, let alone ended, a single leftist program.
If Bush loved the USA I can't imagine what he would have done if he hated it.
BUMP!
The difference being Bush’s people had the imagination and intent to say it.
Don’t worry im sure it’s “bush’s fought” for just being ahead of his time. Or maybe Obama has failed to change anything in 5 years...

Did you try a word search:
Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy.” BO
Compare to:
“Our job is to make life better for our fellow Americans, and to help them build a future of hope and opportunity. And this is the business before us tonight.
A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy, and that is what we have.”
GB State of the Union 2007, see http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/23/AR2007012301075.html for this and other quotes from Bush.
“A future of hope and opportunity requires our citizens have affordable and available health care. BO

“A future of hope and opportunity requires that all our citizens have affordable and available health care.” GB
Extending opportunity and hope depends on a stable supply of energy. BO

Sorry - but this is not nonsense. Of course, Zero will blame his speechwriter (but not fire him or her) while claiming his simplified version was better.
Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.
Exactly. Even with the media covering up every bad thing about Obama, they can’t escape the reality of his actions.
I did a word search for hope and opportunity as separate words and didn’t locate those passages.
I searched for awhile.
You are right...that is blatant plagiarism.
