Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee was the face of the national tea party Tuesday night, delivering the movement’s response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech.
Lee pinned the widening wealth gap on the president’s policies and tout the ideas of a new generation of leaders including himself and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
“Americans know in their hearts that something is wrong. Much of what is wrong relates to the sense that the ‘American Dream’ is falling out of reach for far too many of us,” Lee said in his prepared remarks. “We are facing an inequality crisis—one to which the president has paid lip service, but seems uninterested in truly confronting or correcting.” …

He gave a great speech. Too bad hardly anyone will have seen it.

Lee gave a better speech than the congresswoman the GOP had as a response. Lee gave specific solutions, she told us she once worked at McDonald’s.
They are ALWAYS manipulating to play to "what they think is going on."

That is true. Now that I’ve had a chance to digest his speech, I see Mike proposed more of the same. Not impressed.
Don’t be deceived. I say that more for me than for anyone else. I really want to like this guy but he is a wolf n sheep’s clothing.

FYI I would vote for a President Lee given the current choices. I just want to call BS on what he says today.

It’s typical of the GOPe to be completely non-confrontational. I am surprised she didn’t come out in an apron with a batch of cookies she had just taken out of the oven.
He talked about people feeling like neither party represents them. And that’s true. Plus, I doubt all those people will vote for either party. So, how ‘bout starting a third party, Mr. Lee?
