A North Dakota farmer convicted of terrorizing law officers two years ago is the first American to be sentenced to prison with the help of a Predator drone, Forbes reported.
Rodney Brossart, who was accused at the time of stealing six cows from a neighbor, was arrested after a summer-long standoff in 2011. Authorities say Brossart family members refused to allow deputies on their farmstead and didn't show up for court hearings.

Yep.
Ask Martha Stewart how that works...
Thanks for the drone base map.
Note the long stretch along the Texas Mexico border with no drone bases. Funny that.
But what exactly is the “sky piracy” threat over Wyoming?

They would be a lot worse than holey if the drone had a Hellfire missile. Maybe the police thought these were German cows of mass destruction.

A trial run.
Trying it out to see if it would work.
How much more innocuous could it be?
*feral* government..... I LIKE it.
I considered Sting’s I’ll Be Watching You (AKA the stalker song)
“so these drones are being used to watch cow farmers in flyover land?
“
Cow farmers?
A local sheriff came to the property to talk with the owner and the owner pulled a gun on him. When he was trying to leave the property his department called the local CBP air unit for support. They retasked a UAS on its way back from a border track.
The bigger problem is the next day the sheriff had a warrant for this guy's arrest and CBP offered up a drone again. From a technological standpoint the camera system isn't much better than what is on the CBP helicopters. From a political standpoint the CBP Air leadership in that area really stepped in it for not tasking a helicopter for that support request.
This is really frightening.
So, he was right all along - he did not steal the cows. So in exchange for being right he gets prison time? For what, not succumbing to the people who were wrongfully accusing him and the thugs trying to arrest or harass him on their behalf? There is something very, terribly wrong with this.
I know. The bastard is always flying over my house in his chopper (his official term).
Way off topic, Blackberry spell check insists I should use bastards not the singular. The things one learns on FR. ;>)
He refused to "cooperate." "Contempt of Cop" charge right there. I hope they didn't shoot his dog(s). I wonder if they hit him on and about the head with a Maglite?
I added the word “Obastard” to my spell checker on Firefox...I got tired of the flagging.

Obama EPA Hands Control Over Wyoming City to Indian Tribes

Obama EPA Hands Control Over Wyoming City to Indian Tribes
In apparent defiance of federal law and U.S. court rulings, unelected bureaucrats at the increasingly out-of-control Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other Obama administration departments unilaterally purported to grant control over the city of Riverton, Wyoming, to tribal authorities for the Wind River Indian tribes. At least two smaller towns are also affected.
