Gov. Palin: Sen. McCain Dedicated to National Security
USA for Palin ^ | January 27, 2014 | Sarah Palin via USA for Palin

Posted on 01/27/2014 7:43:15 PM PST by Bratch

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin today posted this Status Update on Facebook:

On this day in 1973 the Paris Peace Accords were signed. Although controversial, this treaty resulted in the release of our American POWs in Vietnam. Among them was John McCain. Our courageous POWs had endured unimaginable punishment at the hands of enemy captors in their sacrificial service to country. Our appreciation for them cannot be adequately articulated.

So many of these vets and POWs have continued to serve our country in private life. They’re still fighting for America and showing their love of country in all they do. Some like Congressman Sam Johnson of Texas and Senator John McCain serve us in the halls of Congress today.

I consider Senator John McCain an American hero and a friend. He fights to remind our President that the federal government’s first priority must be strong defense of our homeland, and, like Congressman Johnson, he fights against big-spending colleagues who don’t prioritize for our military’s needs. Upon the Senator’s shoulders he’s carried part of our message of opposition to today’s “fundamental transformation” of America directly to the problem: President Obama and Harry Reid’s far left agenda.

I appreciate Senator McCain's steadfastness in demanding truth in the White House’s Benghazi cover-up. Because of his persistence we WILL get that truth, and then more eyes will be open to see how dangerous an Obama-led retreating America is in this volatile world.

It goes without saying we don’t all agree on all political issues. For instance, I shall keep pushing to open ANWR, I oppose letting illegal aliens cut in line and receive American benefits via “immigration reform,” and I oppose any Congressional action that allows President Obama to incur more U.S. debt. During this time of dangerous lawlessness in the executive branch, those who agree on stopping the intended transformation of our country had better unite to fight. So at this time, it's perplexing to see Senator McCain’s good efforts to uncover the Obama agenda being ignored and perhaps even hindered now by those wanting to censure the Arizona Senator. Despite our differences on some other issues, there is no questioning Senator McCain’s dedication to national security in spite of the White House’s agenda.

We live in a time of diminishing virtues because of societal influence towards total self-centeredness. This is unfortunate and makes raising families, conducting business, and governing that much more challenging. I know how important the virtue of loyalty is because in politics it’s pretty much nonexistent. I stand on that most important virtue and answer those asking today: “Yes, I am proud to have been asked to run with him in 2008, and he is my friend.”

One more thing, if you've met his beautiful mother you know where he gets his tenacity. Roberta McCain is one tough Mama Grizzly.

I doubt she has the support of the Tea Party any longer!

McCain has already burned his bridges long ago by attacking the Tea Party and it's principles.

>> Maybe she feels a sense of loyalty to him for bringing her to the national stage, I don’t know. Or maybe it’s just “one team, one fight” and she’s doing the Reagan 11th Commandment : Thou shalt not criticize a Fellow Republican”. <<

Possibly a bit of both. But I've seen much worse from freeper favorites. My favorite was arguing with the DeMint fan club here.

Jim DeMint fan: Wow, Jim DeMint is sooo awesome and the LEADER of TRUE conservatives in the Senate. He stands up for principle and would NEVER endorse a RINO!! We should all send $$$ to his Senate Conservative Fund to counter the actions of Ms. Linseed Graham, who is a filthy ultra liberal RINO socialist traitor and the polar opposite of his fellow SC Senator, the heroic conservative champion, Jim DeMint!

Me: But if DeMint is such an awesome principled conservative and Graham is such an awful liberal douchebag, and the have nothing in common, why has DeMint endorsed Graham for re-election in the primary and agreed to be his co-campaign chair?

Jim DeMint fan (covers ears): lalalalala I can't hear you!! Go DeMint!!!

Recall 2011 around here was like in Monty Pythons Life of Brian with the crazies jumping on conservative after conservative with ‘We need to support.... for POTUS. He/she will save this country’
Palin was just the most extreme example of it as she drew it out the longest.

Back then Cavuto asked DeMint if HE was running.
DeMint replies “No way. Why would I want a job like that?”

Naturally that wouldn't deter the DeMint crazies, he was running for sure, just playing coy, they said,

Yep, they kept insisted he was running no matter how many times he said he wasn't. (and that he was enemies with Lindsey Graham despite both of them having no qualms about "working together")

Of course, I've also seen the opposite effect where some freepers insist there's an insidious plan to run some RINO for President, despite the politician shooting down the rumor over and over again:

Freeper: Kristie Kreme is planning a 2012 presidential run!
Cristie: I won't run in 2012.
Freeper: He's LYING! He's gonna run! Just you wait and see.
Cristie: No means no. I have ruled out running in 2012.
Freeper: That means he's DEFINITELY running!
Cristie: I'm running for re-election as Governor and endorsing someone else for president in the primary.
Freeper: He can always change his mind and run!
Cristie: I didn't file by the primary because I'm not running as I already said a million times.
Freeper: He'll run as a write-in!!!

Twas the same thing with Palin. Some people were insisting she could “swoop in and win at the convention” even after Romney won a majority of pledged delegates. I mean....come on.

And some insist she’s a 2016 candidate despite zero signs of interest.

I guess when some people fall in love they stay in love!

Well, it worked for Ron Paul supporters at some state party conventions. ;-)

All I know is this.

If Sarah had come out and Said "I am sorry, I never should have Campaigned with him"

You Can Bet Your Ass, they very same people who are on here right now calling her names, would be calling an Ungrateful (put your Woman Insult Here).

I Bet You all the Money I have in My Pocket Right Now.

I have never been more sure of anything in my entire life!

He’s on FNC right now bashing the Tea Party. Again. Says he’s more motivated to run for reelection since he was censured by the AZ GOP. Perhaps Sarah will endorse him again.....

Palin, McCain, and the Difference between Support and Agreement

Posted on January 28 2014 - 8:17 PM - Posted by:

Yesterday Governor Palin penned a post on her Facebook page expressing her support of Senator McCain in the face of censure by his own party in Arizona.  In many ways, it echoed the op-ed she wrote for the Arizona Central when she endorsed Senator McCain’s re-election nearly four years ago. Governor Palin’s support of Senator McCain shows far more of her character than of his merit. As Governor Palin wrote last night:

We live in a time of diminishing virtues because of societal influence towards total self-centeredness. This is unfortunate and makes raising families, conducting business, and governing that much more challenging. I know how important the virtue of loyalty is because in politics it’s pretty much nonexistent. I stand on that most important virtue and answer those asking today: “Yes, I am proud to have been asked to run with him in 2008, and he is my friend.”

If loyalty is essentially nonexistent in politics as Governor Palin notes, how would anyone know what it looks like? One needs to look no further than Governor Palin’s own character and action over the years. Governor Palin has stood by Senator McCain’s side since 2008, in spite of his often tepid support for her and his nonexistent defense of her when she was more or less accused of murdering his Arizona constituents in Tucson three years ago. Governor Palin’s loyalty has been noted by many. For example, Governor Nikki Haley noted in her book about Governor Palin’s continued support in the midst of allegations during Haley’s gubernatorial campaign that she had an affair:

When allegations from Folks first surfaced, Haley remembers having Palin in her corner after just one phone call – a contrast to the way another supporter, Romney, had handled the news.

“Sarah goes with her gut, and I love her for that,” she writes. “Mitt’s team [said] they were going to have a ‘Nikki Haley meeting’ the next morning to decide what to do next.”

Governor Palin again stood with Haley in May of 2012 when a South Carolina union leader beat a pinata with a picture of Governor Haley’s face on it. This came even after Haley’s silence when Governor Palin and the Tea Party was blamed for the Tucson shooting. Suffice it to say, Governor Palin’s loyalty is because of who she is (her character), not because of who the others are.

Support differs from complete agreement, however. Governor Palin has expressed disagreement with McCain either implicitly or explicitly multiple times. As she noted in her Facebook post,  Governor Palin parts ways with Senator McCain on ANWR and immigration. She has parted ways with him implicitly too. Her "Let Allah sort it out" approach to Syria is 180 degrees different than Senator McCain’s neocon approach to Syria. In her vintage speech to a Tea Party rally in Iowa in September 2011, Governor Palin mocked Senator McCain, although not in name, for his reference to Tea Partiers as hobbits.

To be sure, Governor Palin has her share of disagreements with Senator McCain, just as some supporters may disagree with her for supporting Senator McCain in this manner. That is the beauty of independence of thought–difference of opinion does negate support. As Governor Palin’s brother Chuck Heath Jr. noted on his Facebook page today:

If I turned my back on every friend and family member who didn’t agree with me 100% of the time, I’d have no friends or family members.

It can’t be said much better than that. We don’t have to always agree, but we all can learn a lesson in loyalty from the one political figure who personifies it.

Excellent Post Bratch, that one is being saved.

The Biggest reason why we loose is because we can agree on 95% of something and yet 5% is a total deal breaker.

The Lib's are the Opposite, they will vote for someone they hate, but they know will push their movement forward.
