We had a senior citizen here with alzheimers...took a walk....they found him in a ditch. The sad thing...he had taken a long walk several times before. If only they had a device in his sneaks.

Your comment reminded me a time a couple years back. I was driving along a busy two lane road, bordered by subdivisions. I saw an elderly lady walking on the grass along the road. It's not a place I normally see people walking and certainly not elderly women. Something about it just didn't look right.

I remember wondering what if she had Alzheimer's and her family didn't know she was out alone. What to do? I called 911 and asked that someone go check on her. Never knew how it ended but at least I didn't see a missing news report on her.

Sounds like the devices could be hidden in almost any article of clothing, work boots, shoes, hunting vests etc.

Today’s technology combined with NSA/DHS/IRS watching everything we do via internet & credit card purchases what would stop them from planting such a tracking device into that next pair of boots you buy from Bass Pro Shop?

Maybe a little paranoid, but nothing would surprise me these days.

Seniors and freely ambulating disabled people could use these devices. I went through losing a client for about three days. It was horrible, the not knowing. This client was found days later, disoriented, and a cop did the right thing by bringing him to a shelter. The employee fallout was heavy, management never did get over our group ‘allowing this to happen’, even though this was an unlocked facility. This should not be done on all school children all the time, but in today’s world, we need to think before we reflexively push away the option.
