Mr. Norris, with Washington and Colorado recently legalizing pot smoking and their football teams (Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos) being in the Super Bowl, some have asked whether there is going to be added marijuana use during this years Super Bowl. And President Barack Obama recently said that he doesnt think marijuana is as dangerous as alcohol. What do you think, Chuck? Is it? Trying to Make Sense of Sensimilla in Seattle
I understand the arguments for the legalization of marijuana: It can generate tax revenue. It can reduce illegal supply and demand. It can strip power from cartels and lessen crime across and at our borders. And it isnt so dangerous as other illegal drugs or alcohol.
Youre right; President Obama even claimed one of those arguments when he recently told New Yorker Editor David Remnick, As has been well-documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life.
Obama explained, (Smoking marijuana is) not something I encourage, and Ive told my daughters I think its a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy. But then he added, I dont think it is more dangerous than alcohol.
With the president entering the cannabis conversation ring, debate has intensified around the nation. But whats the truth in the alcohol-vs.-marijuana dispute?
This past week, CNN reported on some extensive studies and evidence surrounding the topic, especially in comparing use, addiction, withdrawal and the effects on using motorized vehicles.

Pot and alcohol together will take you to places where you have never been and you may have a hard time finding your way back.
“I am hoping for secession II. There will be no war as todays Yankees want to get rid of the pesky Red States anyway.”

If that is what they want why do so many keep moving to South Carolina?
-so, he's guilty by association, then, eh? Read on, because Guerena’s wife got $3.4 million in a lawsuit settlement, and I'm pretty sure the Sheriff’s department wouldn't have settled if they could have proven that Jose Guerena was involved, too. You might approve of these brutal SWAT raids on marijuana that end up putting 60+ rounds into a home with children in it, (not to mention the rounds that hit neighbors houses ) -but I'll guarantee that some day these same SWAT raids and their flippant excuses for them will also be used to raid your homes for any weapons you may own, or were suspected of owning... got any Ar-15's? It's coming, you wait and see.
$3.4M settlement in deadly 2011 SWAT raid near Tucson
Read the top part?
He was stopped before with drugs and weapons.
Say it again, don`t believe local cops should be militarized.
Didn`t have to read about it, met the man and personally spoke to him on how he ended the stand off.
Excellent. Then you know how the federal “war on X” ( read terror, poverty, drugs, gun violence, etc), always ends up being a war on our liberty, and freedom, and usually ends up killing innocent Americans.
Lt. Col. told me he failed to show up to court. Coulda` avoided the whole escalation
You omitted telling how in separate incidents at Ruby Ridge, ATF agents shot Weavers 15 year old kid in the back, and his unarmed wife in the head, who was holding a baby. The government awarded Weaver's children $1,000,000 each, and dropped all charges.
Weaver was setup from the very beginning, the FBI/ ATF tried to use him as an informant against white supremacists, after setting him up with a sawed off shotgun sale. I'm amazed at the number of people here on FR who claim to be limited government freedom loving people, and yet they defend the State at every turn. It's disgusting.
Like I said,
Didn`t have to read about it, met the man and personally spoke to him on how he ended the stand off.
Not in favor of militarized local police.
