...Michelle Obama Announces Commitment by Subway® Restaurants to Promote Healthier Choices to Kids

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, First Lady Michelle Obama joined the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) and SUBWAY® along with SUBWAY® Famous Fans Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin, and Justin Tuck at a local Washington, DC, SUBWAY® Restaurant, to announce a three-year commitment by the chain in support of her Let’s Move! initiative to promote healthier choices to kids, including launching its largest targeted marketing effort to date. In addition to strengthening its already nutritious menu offerings to kids, SUBWAY® will launch a new series of campaigns for kids aimed at increasing fruit and vegetable consumption and will set new standards for marketing products to families.

“I’m excited about these initiatives not just as a First Lady, but also as a mom,” said First Lady Michelle Obama. “Subway's kids' menu makes life easier for parents, because they know that no matter what their kids order, it’s going to be a healthy choice.”

One day my grandfather decided that he wanted my grandmother to cook one of the critters. She did. It looked like a giant rat on a platter and tasted unbelievably bad. He never asked again.

That's funny. I've never had possum (yuck). But I have tried both raccoon and snapping turtle that I harvested from the wild. There are some that say they like it. I cannot recommend either. If you like dark meat chicken but greasier and gamier, you might like raccoon. If you like to eat sinew that tastes like chicken, you might like snapping turtle. (In defense of the snapping turtle, it was very large and likely very old. I've been told that makes a difference.)

Corporate Subway must be full of low info voters as they think everyone loves the Mooch as much as they do. I actually like Subway, but there are many local subway joints I’d rather go to if she is involved in any way. I wonder how the magazines with her face on the cover sell?
