I detest abortion.

BUT, lets be honest. Abortion has helped conservatism in the US. The vast majority of those having abortions are liberals and minorities which vote overwhelmingly for Democrats.

That doesn’t make it right, but it’s worth pointing out.

That’s ONE angle to look at... but I think it’s simplifying the reality.

Since the family unit is the basis of conservatism,
and abortion has a direct result of destroying that family unit
(as does any policy from the left),

it may have a net negative effect on conservatism and liberty.

Nothing will change THOSE voters; but the CHILDREN would most likely swing AWAY from their parent(s?) politics; as it so often happens.
