On Election Night 2012, Democrats had more than the reelection of President Obama to celebrate. Karl Rove, the mastermind Republican strategist hated and feared by Democrats, had a meltdown live on Fox News.
A new documentary, "Mitt," Greg Whiteley's film of Mitt Romney and his family during his 2008 and 2012 presidential bids, released on Netflix on Friday, sheds more light on that bizarre incident.
Rove's famous hissy-fit took place when the network called the state of Ohio for Obama, putting the president over the 270 electoral votes needed to win reelection. Rove argued that Fox's analysts had acted prematurely.

Rove, please get lost.
The USA has had enough of your nonsense.
And please bring back American businesses.
I know that it is the conventional wisdom for people on this board to attack Karl Rove, but why are we supposed to trust Newsweek magazine?
True, true. But I’ve also had enough of Ohio, too. There is no ‘there’ there.
Rove had the right model, but he was about an hour or two behind the curve. Those of us who were running speadsheets at home as the county numbers came in knew it was over.
A thoughtful comment. Thank you.
And Fox keeps putting Rove and Carville on the air.
Rove had the same numbers you did at the same time you did. He just wanted them held back for P.R. purposes.
Not to say anything for or against Rove, but I’d not trust Newsweek to accurately report the time of day.
Karl Rove is a GOPe turd. He won’t go away because the moneyed interests that guide the Rockefeller Republicans love him - and he loves their money.
Rove’s organizations must be running behind on their fundraising efforts—time for them to get the mainstream media ginned up.
Rove is the best democrat I know.
And you trust Karl Rove? The guy who took hundreds of millions of dollars in donations and converted it into failed advertising, advertising commission kickbacks and crony consulting fees instead of on-the ground GOTV efforts to turn out the base?
Why would we trust Newsweek or Karl Rove?
It’s a sad truth, jimbo, but there are none so blind as those who will not see.
Right model with wrong results? How does that work? LOL
Rove the joker of Corporate Cronyism
Don't worry about Karl, he kept plenty of that money for himself.
I think we’d all love for Rove to “get lost.” The only problem is, you have douche bags like Sean Hannity who give the guy a platform:
“And here is, ‘The Architect’ Karl Rove! How are you my friend?”
On the rare instances I listen to Hannity’s dumb radio show, he’s usually going out of his way to remind us all what good friends he and Bob Beckle are. Maybe Rove can take Hannity with him.
