HOUSTON — Secretary of State John F. Kerry and a former Texas governor are part of an international coalition trying to halt Texas' execution of a Mexican citizen this week. Edgar Tamayo Arias, 46, is to be put to death Wednesday for fatally shooting Houston Police Officer Guy Gaddis in 1994. Gaddis, 24, had been flagged down near a nightclub by a man who accused Tamayo of robbing him. The officer arrested Tamayo, handcuffed him and put him in the back seat of his patrol car. He was driving away when Tamayo drew a concealed pistol and shot Gaddis three times in the back of the head. On Tuesday, a federal judge in Austin rejected Tamayo's request for an order that would have prevented Gov. Rick Perry and the parole board from considering his clemency petition until the fairness of the state's clemency process could be reviewed. The judge found that the clemency process satisfied constitutional requirements and did not violate Tamayo's right to due process of law. Tamayo's attorneys vowed to keep fighting. "The Texas clemency process is the weakest in the nation, in the state that executes the most. Allowing Mr. Tamayo's fate to be decided by a board that has refused to provide meaningful consideration of evidence that Mr. Tamayo has mental retardation and that his trial was fundamentally unfair as a result of the violation of his consular rights is an affront to what clemency is supposed to be," the attorneys said in a statement. They have petitioned Perry to grant a 30-day reprieve and the parole board to commute Tamayo's death sentence to life in prison. Tamayo, a laborer from Morelos state, Mexico, was in the U.S. illegally at the time of his arrest.

The defendent killed a cop in a closed (locked) vehicle. There is no way of claiming he wasn’t guilty (same with the shot on the scene Ft. Hood shooter).
The pro-murderer advocates are alledging that he didn’t get a fair trial and thus does not deserve the death penalty.
“world court” is always the last ditch effort of anti-american types. Even al sharpton pulls this junk. CNN and PMSNBC will pick this up.

Generally he had to invoke his consular protections at the start. However most nations defer in death cases. Only when it comes to extradition do they force the usa to take death sentences off the table. Since the USA had him in custody there was no need to defer.
Not going to be held legally accountable for your actions (such as a gun rampage)? Then you have NO right to roam freely about (even prior to violence). You MUST have a court appointed legal guardian keeping you under house arrest or institutionalization. Chaparoned at all times when out of the house.

Death Penalty is on it’s way out the door IMO. This issue of pharma companies refusing to sell execution drugs to the states is going to eventually kill it.
Firing squad, hanging, burning alive are a few executions that come to mind. Maybe the ones that had loved ones killed should be able to choose the kind of execution.

This is EXACTLY one huge reason why many of us busted our humps to get TED CRUZ through the Primary process and then the election to become Senator Cruz.
I have said it before and it bears repeating: I want to see TED CRUZ become Senate Majority Leader one day, soon. That is where we really need him.

As I posted on another thread om this topic: Every day when I go to the post office here in my small Texas hometown, I pass by a wanted poster in the post office lobby for the illegal alien that ran a red light, t-boning a USPS vehicle, killing the postman driver. The illegal alien ran away back to Mexico and he has never been caught and made to answer for his crime. That was better than 10 years ago, so when I see these Latino law beakers demanding they be given anything and everything as their right, I see that dead postman.
A second crime against Gaddis and his family is the 20 years this scum lived on the Taxpayers’ dime while waiting on justice.
exactly! this is disgusting! he did it... no question about that... and got to live another 20 years... poor Gaddis didn't get a fair shake in this... just doing his job, shot from behind from someone who had no right even being in this country...

The rope companies will sell a few yards cordage. Gets the job done and is just as quick as the drugs, if not quicker.
If not use the drugs used to euthanize puppies.
If not use the drugs used to abort little babies.
Apparently some pharmaceutical manufacturers are hypocrites.
Failing that, give them an OD of morphine like is done to cancer patients without consent.
