NEW ORLEANS -- A well-known New Orleans musician is hospitalized and unconscious after being jumped in the French Quarter.
Doug Potter's family and friends believe he may have been a target of the "knock out" game.
"Always here when we needed him. Really nice man," said Chef Rick Tyler of Cafe Beignet.

The short version of Antoinette Frank-she was a NOLA policewoman who, with another NOLA policeman, held up a restaurant where her own police partner worked as a security guard. He was murdered, in front of the owner’s two children who were on their kness praying and begging for the robber-police to not kill them. She’s on LA’s death row.
But you will see more stories about ‘crime’ being the same - or almost the same - for all races. Which is a lie, but jay walking will be thrown in with murder to make the point.
Impossible. I read just the other day this was all a figment of our fevered imaginations.

I respectively disagree. The Gifford assault only heightened the hue and cry for more gun control if I recall.
It's a civil rights violation on par with lynching or draggin someone behind a car. It is an attack on innconcents and unprovoked at that.
Eric Holder's Just Us Department has shown itself to be a Department of INJUSTICE. The ONLY case the Feds have looked into in "the knockout game" was a case of white on black violence. Selective enforcement is a tarnish on this country and law enforcement.
Knock out game needs to stop! New Orleans Cops need to make players of this “game” into gator food.
There’s huge disparity in the rape statistics alone. DOJ statistics from 2005-
“In the United States in 2005, 37,460 white females were sexually assaulted or raped by a black man, while between zero and ten black females were sexually assaulted or raped by a white man.
What this means is that every day in the United States, over one hundred white women are raped or sexually assaulted by a black man.”
I don’t imagine they’ve changed much under this administration, unless the rate of black on white rapes has risen.
To any tourist planning a visit to New Orleans, I say, "Would you want to visit Detroit or Chicago?"
That's just the way it is.
It really started the downward spiral in the mid 70s.
I live about 60 miles to the southwest and haven't been to New Orleans in 25 years.
The last time was for a retirement conference sponsored by the company I worked for, people nearing retirement from Louisiana and Mississippi.
Most of us were carrying and only walked around in groups.
Lots worse now, lots.
As I said on another post, since you can’t depend on the police I suggest the rest of us adopt a variation of the “Thatch Weave” used by fighter pilots in WW2, 2 people covering each other’s back, if a punk tries to “play the game” his partner will have a clear shot.
It’s sad that we have to consider a fighter pilot tactic just to walk around safely in our own streets. Screw Afghanistan! We need a surge offensive in this country!
What is the Thatch Weave, and how do we apply its principles to this?
